Well, folks, I think it's time. We consider the fact that there's a good chance that Clarence Thomas May be the most corrupted Supreme Court justice to ever serve on the United States Supreme Court. It was revealed this week, once again by ProPublica that Thomas had accepted a gift that he did not report in the form of tuition payments of $6,000 per month for his great nephew's private school. Now, this great nephew of, uh, Clarence Thomas, he said in the 2007 interview, we're raising him as a son. So you're raising him as if he is your son. Therefore, any tuition payments to this child for this child would be viewed as a reportable gift for the justice. And he didn't report it. However, there was another donor who wasn't a multi-billionaire who did pay some of the tuition too, and Clarence Thomas did report that one, but he didn't report the thousands and thousands of dollars in tuition payments made from Harlan Crow.
So Republicans who were out there saying like, it wasn't his kid, he didn't have to do this. Harlan Crow, just a guy that loves kids' education. Nope, cuz he reported the one but didn't report the other. So it shows you that not only, not only was this reportable, but Clarence Thomas knew, he knew how this would look if he reported the money from Harlan Crow. So he made the intentional decision to not report that one, but to report the other one. You have intent. Now folks, if this were a criminal trial, that would be the smoking gun and he would be convicted.
But it's not a criminal trial. There's nothing we can do. There's nothing we can do. I mean, that could be it. Like we could just fade to black right now cuz there's nothing we can do. Now you do finally have some Democrats in the Senate that are getting off. They're off that Chief Justice John Roberts refused to come and willingly testify. And they said they're requesting documents from Clarence Thomas. If he doesn't turn over those documents, they'll see what their legal avenue is after that. But here's the thing that I I, I talked about last time when we talked about Roberts, if they end up issuing a subpoena to Clarence Thomas and Thomas just simply says, I'm not gonna comply, then what? Right? Because I know some people out there on social media are saying, listen, the Democrats actually can do a lot about this and they're gonna do it. Relax. But that's the thing is like even if the Democrats try to do the things and Clarence Thomas
Just says no. Okay, so where do you take it? The Supreme Court, like every justice would have to recuse themselves. So then what happens? Then? On Sunday, Marjorie Taylor Greene got on Twitter to let everybody know that she is not on drugs. That is a perfectly normal thing for somebody to just randomly do on social media, apparently, is just get out there and be like, Hey folks, I'm not on drugs. I mean, good. But the reason Marjorie Taylor Greene, I think had to explain to people that she's not on drugs is because prior to saying she wasn't on drugs, she said that her TV was spying on her. Kinda like Kellyann Conway when she said that, uh, you know, people can spy on you through your microwave. Marjorie Taylor Green now said on Twitter that her TV was spying on her. You can tell me if any of it makes any sense. Last night in my DC residence, the television turned on by itself and the screen showed someone's laptop trying to connect to the tv. Just for the record, I'm very happy, I'm also very healthy and eat well, and exercise a lot. I don't smoke and never have, I don't take any medications. I am not vaccinated. So I'm not concerned about blood clots, heart conditions, strokes, or anything else, because those two statements like totally go hand in hand. Like, oh my God, they're spying on me. By the way, I just did a bunch of pushups, right? So, ha ha, look at me. I, I, I don't, I don't, I can't even make sense of this, but let's, let's dissect it. So here we go. It is entirely possible, especially given a smart tv and the way TVs today are obviously connected to the internet.
It is entirely possible for a hacker to get into your television. That part is not completely unbelievable. Now, the part that would be considered unbelievable is the TV turning on by itself, because even if a hacker were able to get into your tv, they would have to do it once the TV is on and they would not be able to hack into it to turn it on as most televisions. In fact, I'm pretty sure all televisions at this point still rely on the RF signal coming from a remote control. So if you do not have that remote control or a universal remote that you've programmed to the TV and you're hiding outside the window, you're not gonna be able to turn the device on. So right off the bat, her story is not believable. Now, there is a chance I will give, you know, this possible caveat here. If she has the TV connected to any kind of smart home device where she can, to turn it on via voice activation, you know, an Alexa or a Google Home type thing, somebody could hack into that and potentially turn on her on her tv. She's using a smart home assistant, uh, seems very unlikely. Which of course means that it's unlikely somebody was able to turn on her TV to get into it in the first place. So there's that. The second part of it, it's so weird. Like, I'm very happy. Okay. No, no. Nobody accused you of not being happy, it sounds like you think it was like big brother looking in and you're like, I'm so happy. I love Big Brother, this is great, wonderful, everything is good. Um, freedom and slavery. But that's a weird thing to add because then she went on in another tweet and just said, I, I just love my country and the people and know how much they've been screwed over by the corrupt people in our government, and I'm not willing to be quiet about it or willing to go along with it.

We got a new corrupt Supreme Court justice to talk about today, according to a massive new report by ProPublica, who of course broke the Clarence Thomas stories, uh, with him and Harlan Crow. But it turns out that Justice Samuel Alito is pretty much in the same boat. I mean, not literally. Alito was actually in a different boat, but Samuel Alito in the year 2008 went on a luxury fishing trip that was funded by billionaire Republican Paul Singer hedge fund operator. Alito flew to Alaska on singer's private jet at a cost that if Alito had to pay it himself, would've been more than $100,000. They then enjoyed a luxury fix, uh, fishing expedition that cost more than $1,000 per day. And all of this, of course, in 2008 was gifted to Samuel Alito. He even posted pictures of it cuz he was catching so many fish and having so much fun.
And hey, nothing wrong with that until Alito failed to put it on his financial disclosure forms. Alito did not report these gifts, which is what they are. They were gifts from Paul Singer and then the story gets worse cuz it's not just, oh well, he took gifts and didn't report 'em. Yeah. Okay. But at 10 different times after that trip, 10 different times, Paul Singer's hedge fund had a case in front of that Supreme Court. And you know what didn't happen? Samuel Alito did not recuse himself from any of those 10 cases, not a single one. So you took gifts from a billionaire hedge fund manager. You didn't report the gifts, then you ruled mostly in his favor. I might add on 10 different cases that he was personally involved in. Enough is enough.
The Supreme Court needs to be disbanded and rebuilt. You can't fix corruption at this level. These people were given a lifetime free pass. And because we likely will never have the numbers in the Senate to actually remove these people from office via impeachment, there is nothing we can do. There's nothing we can do. When I know folks say, well, no, we could do you. No, you can't. You really actually, genuinely frigging can't. And I don't want just take away all the hope that people may have. Here is what one Republican lawmaker had to say to the daily beast. There is no one, I have heard from dozens of members who are happy with her that trust her or confide in her.
She's continually seeking attention, building yourself up while tearing others down. I have cut ties completely. The lawmaker who refused to be named said, and honestly, that is what she does. Marjorie Taylor Greene goes out there, she says horrible things. She picks fights with other members. Even when they do what she wants them to do, she still picks fights with them, and she puts herself on tv. She puts herself on her podcast. She makes herself out to be the victim. And then everybody just is like, yeah, nobody likes you. You're not doing anything constructive. You're not doing anything worthwhile. You've literally done nothing for your constituents, and now you really can't do anything for 'em because you don't have any allies in Congress. You're just there taking up space to cause fights. And here's what I mean when I say that. She even attacks people who, who do what she wants them to do.
Last week, she sent out this post on Twitter. You voted to kick me outta the Freedom Caucus, but keep CNN want Tobe Ken Buck and vaping groping Lauren Bobert. And you voted with the Democrats to protect terrorists. Talib, she said to Chip Roy, you hate Trump certified Biden's election and could care less about J six defendants being persecuted. Now, she attacked, attacked, excuse me, vaping groping Lauren Bobert there. Now Bobert voted for her resolution to censor Rashida Tula, but she still attacked her. Like, why are you even doing that? She was your friend. I know she hasn't been this year, but she was, and she did what you wanted her to, but you're still vaping groping bobert. I don't disagree with you, but I mean, let's be real here. You don't have enough friends to off the few people who occasionally go along with the crazy things you're trying to do. But she did. But it hasn't been talked about. Explain what this is, with the hell fire missile and the killer drone.

But we are inching closer to getting the US fully involved in a war in Europe.
Yeah. $40 billion here. Now long range missiles. Now, what the weapons industry loves about this is it normalizes it, you see. Now, now people know, yeah, we got the hunter killer missile being used. Weapons, this is a gold mine, a gold mine for the weapons industry. And that's what this is about. That's what that $40 billion was about. That's what Ukraine in general is about, is the weapons industry. This is a big payday for the weapons industry. Now I have tried to find just quick look where corporate media has even talked about this. This is, this is tail wagging the dog. It's the weapons industry that is escalating a war into where this is the first time since the Cuban missile crisis, where Americans probably should have been very concerned about nuclear war. I, if, if you have children and you're not paying attention to this, this is just another brick in the wall, isn't it?

According to a new study by the center for sustainability and the global environment in university of Wisconsin, Madison's Nelson Institute for environmental studies, a new study put forward by this group says that decarbonizing the us energy system, which basically in layman's terms, switching to renewable energy can not only save the United States $600 billion a year, but it could also potentially save more than 50,000 lives per year. By preventing 53,000, I think is the actual number, premature deaths every year deaths that are in fact caused by pollution from the burning of fossil fuels, asthma attacks, heart conditions, all kinds of other issues that arise in the human body, from the burning of fossil fuels. And so they've put out this new report showing us once again, that switching to renewable energy is not only great for the economy, but it is phenomenal for human health here in the United States.
At this point, there is no way you can spend switching to renewable energies in a bad light. Oh, well, it's too expensive for us. Nope. Actually, it's gonna save us a ton of money. Hundreds of billions of dollars. So you're oh, it's too expensive. Argument is immediately out the window, but what about the jobs? Cool. Now you don't work in the oil fields. You get to go work in the solar industry. You get to go work on wind turbines. We're not killing any jobs. We're just moving them from one place to another. Typically not even, you know, in a different state, just one industry to another. You don't have to worry about getting black lung when you're out there creating solar panels.
But here's the thing. Let me read this. The pollution reductions would save 53,200 premature deaths and provide 608 billion in annual benefits. The avoided deaths account for 98% of the monetary benefits, uh, particulate matter reductions offer further benefits including up to 25,600 avoided non-fatal heart attacks as well as preventing 5,000 asthma related emergency room visits and avoiding 3.6, 8 million days of lost work. I mean, isn't that what Republicans want? Like everybody get back to work. No sick days, no time off. No, none of that. Okay. Well, if you want that, you're gonna have to switch to renewable energy because this is one of the leading causes of illnesses that result in time off from work. So if y'all want people to get back to work, guess what? We're gonna have to stop the burning of these
Fossil fuels, which by the way, is 100% within our reach. We could do this. We as a country, just lack the will to do it. And one of the big reasons we lack the will to do it is because money from the fossil fuel industry is paying the people in charge to not do anything about it. Renewable energy is a winner. Again, there is no other way to slice it. Folks. We could do this. The technology exists to do this. It's the will to take action from the people in Washington, DC, because they're being paid to not take action. That is the only thing holding us back. And every year we don't take action. We're losing $608 billion. We're losing 50,000 premature lives. I'm sorry, we're losing 50,000 lives to premature death. That's the better way to say that it is infuriating because we have the numbers.

Recently a new study out of Harvard University has shown that misinformation mostly, by the way, misinformation about COVID-19, the vaccines, the treatments, all of that, is bad for our mental health. And for the record, it's not just bad for the mental health of those who buy into the misinformation that they find online. It's bad for everybody's mental health. But one of the researchers specifically points out the fact that the belief in misinformation leads to an increased incidents of depression. So please people who believe in all of this misinformation that they're seeing online are far more prone to depression. well folks donald trump obviously not having a good time none of his friends having a good time right now everybody getting hit with a subpoena like it's oprah coming out and saying you get a subpoena and you get a subpoena so joining me to break down just all of the insanity uh surrounding trump world is heather digby parton from salon.com so heather i don't even know where we start do do we start with the 40 subpoenas do we talk about jeffrey berman it's it's been a crazy hell of a week just this past week it's it is it is nuts and it's getting nuttier i mean and there's a lot of nutty stuff going on but i mean the 40 subpoenas i think is a good place to start because that's sort of the big case that we don't really know anything about and in fact when i was reading the story in the new york times when i you know i was maggie haberman they broke that story that they had issued the 40 subpoenas uh or or that they were they were actually i guess it was the issue in the 40s of penis and i'm reading through the story and it's like suddenly i'm going okay now they're going to look at um trump's super pac and they're also talking about the elector scam and they've got lawyers involved sort of on both of those things on the super pac and on the elector scam and they're they're putting out these subpoenas all over the country it's not just in dc it's happening you know various people around the country and i'm reading through it and i'm going and especially when i get to this part about the super pac and all the money that they collected under you know false pretenses i'm looking at it and i'm going oh my god this reminds me of reading watergate stories when they were first breaking them right i mean you'd get this there's a grand jury and there's a slush fund and there's you know and it would come out piecemeal and you couldn't really put the whole thing together but it was it ended up being of course once we read all the president's men and then saw the movie that they were saying follow the money which is what they were doing well that's what's happening here and i'm reading that and i'm going oh my god they're following the money and you know we had we had little hints of this in the january 6 committee hearings they brought it up but they didn't really follow up although it looks like they're going to in the subsequent hearings that are going to happen this fall but i was i was just so struck by the fact that here's these stories that have all these webs and we don't exactly know how they converge but it sure looks like the department of justice is trying to figure that out by taking these people into the grand jury i mean we just found out that mark meadows is cooperating with the department of justice um so something's happening there and i think that it's really really interesting and i think that it could be a key to a number of things in ways that we don't actually even understand and and i think it has to do with the money that was flowing through uh that you know that post january 6th you know cash cow that trump put together and even before to fight the steel you know to stop the steel that stopped the steel pack which then turned into a different pack and all this money that's been flowing around so that's when i think people should really keep an eye on i mean i'm sure that that everyone will and and as more stories come out we're only hearing little bits and pieces of it from people who were called before the grand jury so we only you know it's only you know little little things that people are choosing to share so we'll see what happens there but i find that fascinating because
