Gaza Lies in Ruins
At least 260 children have been killed by Israel's relentless attack on Gaza which continued overnight and through this morning. The death toll in the besieged enclave since the start of Israel's air strikes on Saturday has risen to 1,055 while 5,184 people have been injured and 260,000 displaced.
Local authorities reported significant casualties when Israel targeted the home of an international law expert in Gaza City. The Israeli Air Force said they had hit 450 targets in the previous 24 hours.
Since the surprise attacks by the Palestinian resistance on Saturday, Israel has imposed a complete blockade on Gaza, cutting off food, water and power. UNRWA said it only has two weeks supply of food and water for the 180,000 people who have sought refuge in their schools. Local officials in Gaza have also warned that a power plant is due to shut down in a matter of hours due to a lack of fuel as a result of the Israeli blockade.
Despite the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday "we stand with Israel." Biden also described the attacks by Palestinian resistance groups as "unadulterated evil". However, US officials said that Washington was working with other countries on a plan to offer safe passage out of Gaza for civilians. On Tuesday, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told reporters that Israel's blockade of Gaza was illegal and that aid from Brussels would continue.
Iranian officials have continue to deny their involvement in Saturday's attacks, while Egyptian intelligence officials have claimed they gave Israel prior warning of the attacks. On Tuesday Israel also attacked the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt. The Israeli military has also confirmed that it attacked Lebanese territory following attacks on one of its military posts from Lebanon.

Irish Republican youths threw petrol bombs and other missiles at a police land rover in the Creggan area of Derry. They were furious that a Republican march had been banned. The march organized by the Derry 1916 Commemoration Committee went ahead regardless and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) monitored it from a distance.
The parade started in the Central Drive area of the city before moving on to the City Cemetery where the PSNI vehicle was attacked with petrol bombs and fireworks before driving off in flames. The PSNI have now closed the cemetery close to the attack claiming there is an explosive device in the area.
It comes as U.S. President Joe Biden is set to visit the British-controlled six counties of Northern Ireland to mark the 25th anniversary of The Good Friday Agreement marking the end of the long-running conflict known as the 'troubles'. Dissident Republicans represented at the Derry march were commemorating the 1916 Easter Rising against British colonial rule and have never accepted The Good Friday Agreement.

Thousands of Greek anti-fascists confronted an international call-out fascist event in Athens, organized by the now-banned Golden Dawn party and the far-right group Casa Pound. Footage shows violent clashes in which iron bars, improvised shields, and motorbike helmets were used.
The authorities deployed 3,000 additional police, including riot police and national police, in areas close to the fascist gathering. Police attempted to separate the protesters with tear gas grenades, causing one rally participant to suffer serious head injuries. Refugees and migrants in the area were attacked by the fascists, who also attempted to set fire to a metro carriage with petrol.
The far-right rally took place on Wednesday to mark the tenth anniversary of the deaths of two members of Golden Dawn, Manolis Kapelonis and George Fundoulis, in front of the party's office in Neo Iraklio in northern Athens. Greek far-right groups had called on fascists from all over Europe via Telegram to take part in the rally, which was banned by the police.
