They now have room for 500 pieces of equipment. Then, the party explored Kokolata Beach and the western part of Koniwea Plain in Rendashia. Now, they will make their way east through Koniwea Plain to the Trigate Checkpoint. Kokolata Beach (time 0:28): The party resumes at the church in Kokolata Beach. Loretta at E-4 has story info. At F-2, the party exits northeast to Koniwea Plain. Koniwea Plain (time 4:15): The party gains control at B-3 in Koniwea Plain. They have already explored the western portion of the area, so they will make their way east. The party takes out a couple Metal Medleys (time 4:49). In a battle against a Hawk Man (ホークマン), the party encounters its rarefied cousin, the Death Crow (死のカラステング). The player earns the accolade "Death Wing Birdman Hunter" for defeating the Death Crow. The party goes east through the tunnel at D-3. They emerge at E-3. The party enters the wrecked ship at E-4/F-4. On the lower level, a barrel contains Mini Medal #151, counting the 61 Heorot has exchanged so far. On the upper deck, a red chest at E-4/F-4 contains 3 Magic Beast Bones (まじゅうのホネ). The party leaves the wrecked ship. On the hill west of the wrecked ship, a red chest at E-4 contains a Platinum Hammer (プラチナハンマー). Southwest of the shipwreck, a black chest at D-5 contains 2 Sainted Somas (天使のソーマ). When they have finished exploring the zone, the party takes the gate at H-4 to the Trigate Checkpoint (三門の関所). Trigate Checkpoint (time 18:40): As the party arrives, a cutscene takes place. It seems the northern gate leading to Gran Zedora is closed for now. Crows arrives in a timely manner and tells the party where to go next. The party must take the eastern exit from the checkpoint and visit three other realms on Rendashia: Melsandy Village, the Town of Seredo, and the Kingdom of Arahagiro. In each, the party must obtain a butterfly item. The party gains control at C-5 in the Trigate Checkpoint. The Trigate Checkpoint destination is added to the Zoom Stone. The only services available here are an inn and a church. At B-3 in the northwest, a pot contains Mini Medal #152. At G-7 in the southeast, a pot contains a pouch of Coagulant (どくがのこな). At G-4/G-5 by the east gate, Ricardo has story info. At H-5, the party takes the east gate to the Wald Water Source (ワルド水源). Wald Water Source (time 23:41): The party starts at B-3 in the northwest of the zone. It is a fairly sizeable zone to explore. The southeast exit leads towards the Kingdom of Arahagiro, while the southwest exit leads to Melsandy Village. In the first battle, the party encounters a Liquid Metal Slime and two Metal Medleys (time 24:56). One Metal Medley gets away, but the party defeats the Liquid Metal Slime and the other Metal Medley. At C-3 on the eastern side of the first bridge, a red chest contains a Blue Orb (ブルーオーブ). At B-3/C-3, the party finds the Rest Spot on the Lake (湖上の休息所), a checkpoint. The Rest Spot on the Lake destination is added to the Zoom Stone. There are a few shops here. At the bazaar, the party spends 3,500 gold on the recipe for the Artemis Bow (アルテミスの弓). They also buy the available materials. The party rests at the inn. Next to the inn, a barrel at B-3/C-3 contains Mini Medal #153. Next to the church, a barrel contains 5 Belle Caps (うるわしキノコ). Southeast of the rest spot, a long wooden walkway provides passage down the cliff face. At C-4 on this walkway, a barrel contains 3 clumps of Fine Fur (ふさふさの毛皮). On a deck at B-5, a barrel contains 2 Small Scales (小さなうろこ). When the party's current Double Bubble and Metal Perfume expire, they use new ones. From B-5, one path leads southwest towards Melsandy Village. The other leads east to the Defel Wilderness. The party will take the eastbound path first for treasures. On a wooden walkway at C-5, a barrel contains 3 Celestial Skeins (あまつゆのいと). The party goes east through a tunnel at D-5 to D-5/E-5. This is video #077 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for the PC. This is episode 9 of The Crystals: The Planet Eater. They explored floors B4 - B6 and reached the save room on B6. Now, they will continue descending through this area. Subterrane: The party resumes in the save room on floor B6. I am still using a lineup of Kain, Rosa, Ceodore, Rydia, and Edge. The party takes the northeast stairway. They find themselves in the Tower of Babil - B5. Between the middle bridge and the western bridge, they find a chest with a Red Fang. They find another dark crystal past the middle bridge. Examining it triggers a scene. Then, the party enters a boss battle against the King of Eblan and the Queen of Eblan. Really easy. After a short time, an event takes place, and the battle ends. A teleporter appears after the battle. The party takes it to the Subterrane - B7. Kain reaches Level 45. There are three doors along the southern corridor. In the western room, a chest contains a Cat-Ear Hood. It reduces ice-elemental damage. Rydia equips this for now. In the middle room, a chest contains a Protect Ring. Rydia equips this one. In the eastern room, a chest contains a Brave Suit. Edge equips it. Rydia reaches Level 48. At the western end of B7's northern corridor, a chest contains a White Tiger Mask. Edge equips this. On the ledge below the northern corridor, a chest in the east contains an Ether. A chest in the west contains an X-Potion. The party takes the stairway down. They magically find themselves at the Mount Ordeals - Summit. Rosa reaches Level 44. On the level above the entrance, a chest in the west contains a Remedy. There is a save point in the east. When the party rests here, there is a scene with Leonora, Porom, and Luca. at the end, they learn the Ice Crush Band. The party saves after the scene. Edge reaches Level 50 and learns the Ninjutsu ability Tremor. On the top level, the party examines the dark crystal at the start of the bridge. Be ready! First, the party battles four Skulnants. Easy enough. A brief scene takes place after the battle. Next, the party takes on the first form of Scarmiglione. Scarmiglione summons six Revenants to support him. The Revenants are not too bad. However, when Scarmiglione is attacked, he counters with the Thundaga spell. The party can easily mitigate this by putting Reflect on everyone. At the end of this battle, Ceodore reaches Level 47 and learns Haste. Afterwards, the party confronts Scarmiglione's second, undead form. He has earned a total of 104 Job Points as Red Mage. In this video, he will do some more Job Point grinding as Red Mage in Escha - Ru'Aun. Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He picks up a few Merit Point upgrades. Then, he heads out to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:47): Heorot teleports to Misareaux Coast, Tavnazian Archipelago. Misareaux Coast (time 2:10): Heorot arrives at Home Point #1 at G-5. Up the hill, he examines the Undulating Confluence at G-5 to enter Escha - Ru'Aun. Escha - Ru'Aun (time 2:48): Heorot arrives at H-11. After summoning his Trust NPCs, he hunts some more Eschan Il'aern in this zone. A holiday event is boosting experience, limit, and capacity points earned. Heorot accrues 4 Job Points for an overall total of 108 Job Points earned. He has a current total of 8 Job Points. When he has finished for now, he uses the Undulating Confluence at H-11 to return to Misareaux Coast, Tavnazian Archipelago. Misareaux Coast (time 1:00:29): Heorot arrives at G-5. Just down the hill to the west, he uses Home Point #1 at G-5 to teleport to Port Jeuno. Port Jeuno (time 1:01:07): Heorot trades his Crests to Shami at H-8 for storage. Then, he teleports to Bastok Markets. Bastok Markets (time 1:02:57): Heorot trades his Copper A.M.A.N. Voucher to Isakoth at E-11. In Mjoll's Goods, he sells his loot to Olwyn at E-11.
