I make two abstract paintings of flamingos primarily using a negative space painting technique with acrylic paint and a palette knife. I show how the combination of the palette knife, acrylic paint, painting on a wall and doing multiple paintings at once all contribute to staying loose and adding energy to the work. The end result has a very Florida, Key West or just coastal vibe. I love creating this type of contemporary style art. Feels like something very fitting for a beach vacation home.
