This guide is a offers a few examples of ways that you can use BTCRecover to recover a BIP39 passphrase if you have lost it, forgotten it or have mistyped it. (Ledger wallets call this a hidden wallet, 25th word, etc) This will work with a Trezor, Ledger Nano or Keepkey. It can be an easy mistake to make. (Ledger Live will give the error message "wrong device or passphrase")
This can be helpful if you know your 24 word recovery seed is right, but you can't seem to find your crypto, or all the addresses you see are incorrect.

Get the tool working and test it with one of my scenarios above... (Irrespective of whether you use a token list or password list) Just to make sure you are getting the syntax right and can be confident to try it with your own real info...

This video runs through how to create a watch only wallet for your Bitcoin. This allows you to securely receive Bitcoin using your mobile, without having your private keys with you. (Useful for if you have cold storage of any kind, or a hardware wallet that doesn't support mobile apps or viewing the wallet balance without the device) This video runs through using Blue Wallet (Available on iOS and Android) to create watch only wallets using Trezor (Trezor suite + web wallet), Keepkey (via Electrum, though the process is the same for any Electrum wallet) and for a Ledger Nano.
It also talks about some of the security and privacy risks, as well as the way that scammers often use watch-only wallets to trick newbies. (Basically anyone who runs in to trouble with "non-spendable" Bitcoin has been scammed this way)

Some recent changes in OpenSSL v3 mean that ripemd160 is no longer available to tools like BTCRecover by default. (No longer available to the Hashlib module in Python, giving an error of: unsupported hash type ripemd160)
It is now considered to be a legacy hash function and this means that you need to edit the OpenSSL configuration so that legacy hash functions are available. This isn't isn't an issue on Windows (though Windows is generally not a good environment to do recoveries in the first place...), but will be increasingly required on Linux and MacOS systems going forward. (And will be fairly common as it's an issue on Ubuntu 22.04, an LTS release)
Once fixed, you can recover full performance, as opposed to crypto wallet and seed recoveries taking 2-3x as long. :)

This video quickly looks at how to connect your hardware wallet with Trezor Suite, Exodus, Shapeshift and the current Trezor web wallet. This is useful to know if you are having trouble finding crypto between different wallets as well as what you can do if you need an alternative to use if vendor software is online, or if you want access to better privacy or security features.
