Banana peels are a fantastic source of potassium 42%. They do contain nitrogen, which makes using them perfect for plants like tomatoes and peppers, which have a low nitrogen need. Banana peels also contain calcium, manganese, sodium, magnesium and sulphur. Soak 1 banana peel in a quart jar for a week. Pour banana-infused water around peppers and tomato plants. Honeydew and passionflower will do too. Throw the banana peel into the compost bin thereafter.
Making banana tea is a great natural fertiliser for any plants. Simply soak the banana peels in filtered water for 3 days to a week, then pour the liquid around your plants and afterwards throw the peels in your compost bin!.
It is a great zero-waste idea for adding nutrients into your garden. Banana peel fertilizer takes less 5 minutes to prepare, and is ready for your potassium loving plants within a week.
