Home video shot at CFB Shearwater during the 1989 International Air Show gives us a time capsule of one of the greatest events that used to be put on in the Halifax area. It was our opportunity to see some fantastic aircraft up close in a ground display, and talk with crewmembers who operated them. It provided also the chance to see some of these aircraft perform fly-past maneuvers. Shearwater underwent modifications in 2002 to runway structure that saw the end of larger fixed-wing aircraft ability to land and effectively ended ground-display air shows at the site.
