Some of our desires can lead us to a deeper experience with Jesus. However, some of our desires can also mislead us. Attending to our desires and discerning them prayerfully is an important spiritual discipline. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJKunNv_XFE
Being Part of God's People | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” 8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. 9 For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.” 10 Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac. 11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad — in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls — she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” 13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” (Romans 9:6-13)
Salvation is not by assumption but by revelation. A lot of people assume certain things when it comes to their relationship with God. Unfortunately, their assumptions are often wrong. When our assumptions are wrong, our conclusions and applications will also be wrong. This is the reason why so many people remain lost. In particular, our understanding of how a person becomes part of God's people can easily come from wrong assumptions.

Belief About Jesus (Part 1) | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” 23 Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph, the son of Heli, 24 the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melki, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph... 31 the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David... 34 the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor... 37 the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Kenan, 38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God. (Luke 3:21-38)
Generally speaking, most people respect Jesus. They know He is a miracle worker, so people pray to Him for their various needs. They also know He is a good teacher, so they love to quote His inspiring words and post them on Facebook. But are they willing to surrender to Him and follow Him as their Savior and Lord? Not really. What people believe about Jesus determines how they respond to Him. But the real question is this, what about us? What do we professing Christians believe about Jesus? Is He just a miracle worker or a good teacher to us?

1 Paul, an apostle — sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead — 2 and all the brothers and sisters with me, to the churches in Galatia: 3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel — 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! (Galatians 1:1-9)
We live in a pluralistic world where people believe all kinds of things. To live peacefully with others, we need to practice acceptance and tolerance. But this should not mean compromise. Just because we can accept and tolerate someone who believes differently from us does not mean that all truth statements are equally true. A truth statement is simply a claim that something is true. But that does not mean it is true. We must learn to guard against false beliefs.

1 One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. 2 He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. 4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” 5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” 6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” 9 For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10 and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” 11 So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him. (Luke 5:1-11)
God can and will use anyone as He pleases. It's all by His grace. But we can choose to be available to the Master if we so desire. We can posture and position ourselves so the Lord may use us according to His purpose and will. In other words, we can make ourselves more available to Him so that if it pleases the Lord to use us, He can. We can offer our lives to Him as a living sacrifice.

Main Idea: “God is not looking for our ability but for our availability.” (“Hindi hinahanap ng Diyos ang ating kakayahan kundi ang ating kahandaan.”)
How can we be available to the Master?
Three things we can do
1. Let God use whatever we have (vv.1-3).
2. Trust God even in areas of our expertise (vv.4-7).
3. Be humble but don't limit God (vv.8-11).

Finding Our True Delights | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. 2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” 3 I say of the holy people who are in the land, “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.” 4 Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. 5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. 7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. 11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:1-11)
People try to find their joy and happiness in the things of the world. But believers find their true delight in the Lord. However, because we are not trained to be thankful, a lot of believers feel that they too must find their joy and happiness in the world. They do not realize that everything we need for a life of joy and fulfillment is found in the Lord.

Father's Delight | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
16 He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. 17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. 18 They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. 19 He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. (Psalm 18:16-19)
If you were to list down on a piece of paper all the things that you like about yourself and those that you don't like about yourself, which list would be longer? It all depends on how you see yourself. But it's even more important to know how the Lord sees you. The Lord delights in you as a father delights in his son or daughter, which means He likes you even though He knows you fully more than you can ever know yourself. But so what?

Not all types of consolations are from the Lord. We must learn to discern when the enemy of our souls is trying to deceive us through false consolations.

Mind Your Way | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. (Psalm 1:6)
No one wants to get lost. That's why we use maps or GPS. Or else we ask people around us for directions to make sure that we are not lost. When it comes to our way of life, how many of us are concerned about not getting lost? Sadly, there are those who are not concerned about whether they are lost or not. That is foolishness. To live wisely, we must know where we are going.
