The Canadian Medical Association just had a conference on NetZero Health Care. Friends of Science Society did a couple of videos about this over the past couple of years and people thought we were exaggerating - but here it is. Medical people say that the WHO sees climate change as an existential threat, but the most recently appointed chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change doesn't even see overshooting the proposed target of keeping global temperature below 1.5 deg C warming (since pre-industrial times) as a problem. The problem is that the health care system is suffering from many challenges post-COVID, and climate change is not one of them. Diverting precious public monies to green crony projects like solar panels on the roof of EV busses makes no sense at all, when that money should be devoted to patient care. It's time the public took an interest in why medical people are distracted by climate change - a topic far outside their area of expertise; why should they even spend a minute on such a thing when there are long waiting lists for care? Ecojustice is running a donation campaign devoted to them entering the 'carbon pricing battle royale' - but Friends of Science Communications Manager challenges this notion. If carbon pricing and Paris Agreement targets - even if observed by all nations - will have a miniscule effect on climate, but related policies like rapid decarbonization would result in mass deaths.... how can Ecojustice, a registered Canadian charity, claim to be working for a net public benefit? Sounds like they are imposing harm. On your dime. Maybe donate to Friends of Science Society instead. Become a member and donate - here: https://friendsofscience.org/index.php?id=160

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change selected a new chairperson: Dr. Hoesung Lee, of South Korea. He is an energy economist and has vowed to build bridges with the developing world. Many hope that he will lead the IPCC to take a more practical view of climate change policy.
Monsoon expert Dr. Madhav Khandekar talks about the effects of Monsoons. He advocates improving adaptation and improving forecasting to reduce risks associated with Monsoons, rather than CO2 emission reduction policies.

Recently David Suzuki Foundation and other environmental groups like Equiterre have made false and misleading claims that oil and gas operations are subsidized for billions by taxpayers. The opposite is true. Environmental charities are subsidized by taxpayers and they are blocking taxpaying jobs and industries through disseminating false and misleading, unbalanced information about resource industries and about climate change.

Canada's CBC-TV loves to tell people that climate change is seen 'in your backyard.' This is absurd, since climate change is measured over 30, 50, 100 and millennial time scales But what happens when a family of tiny Panda's goes for a walk and they DO find 'climate change' in their back yard?? Enjoy this light-hearted and optimistic look at climate change with your children or grandchildren. Life is beautiful. Children should be busy having fun, not being turned into angry school-skipping activists, trying to 'save the planet' from the magnificent modern world built by their parents' years of hard work. education, and earned wisdom. The Sun drives climate change, directly and indirectly, interacting in a dynamic, chaotic manner with the internal variabilities of Earth's natural systems, and greater forces in the universe (like cosmic rays, orbital patterns of planets, and more!). What happens to society when people who are presenting facts are bullied into silence? Canadian MP Lisa Raitt retweeted a Financial Post article written by Dr. Ross McKitrick. The article talked about what happens to people - like Roger Pielke, Jr. - who present climate facts that are counter to popular beliefs. They are usually attacked by the 'climate mob' and bullied into silence. That's exactly what then happened to Lisa Raitt for her retweet! Dr. MckItrick then wrote Lisa an open letter, citing numerous climate facts that dispute popular beliefs of many parliamentarians and the public. It was such a great letter, our Communications Manager thought it was worth a public reading. The letter is full of wisdom, including an anecdote about one of McKitrick's friends who lived in the former Soviet Union. That friend pointed out that people silenced themselves under the repressive regime. The take-away? Silence makes us victims, so speak up with your views on climate. Have courage and demand open, civil debate on these important issues. See the letter:

It seems the health care community has been co-opted into climate dogma at national levels. At COP26 last year in Glasgow, Canada (and other nations) committed to the World Health Organization's (WHO) COP26 climate resilient/sustainability program. But what does this mean for Canadians and our already struggling health care system. It seems to mean that #climate doctors are now more interested in 'planet saving' projects that dealing with real human health care needs. There have been a flurry of recent pre-COP27 news reports from doctors, most of whom are party to the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) who are claiming that climate change is the cause of terrible health problems, that we are 'addicted' to fossil fuels, and that this is causing extreme weather events and wildfires. In fact, modern medicine cannot exist without fossil fuel energy to build and run medical facilities, nor can we do without the product stream of everything for modern medicine from massive diagnostic units like MRIs, CT and PET scanners, to operating theatres with the stainless steel equipment, to PPEs - the protective masks and drapings that helped health care workers and patients stay safe through infectious incidents in the COVID pandemic, and in other potentially infectious situations (i.e. open body surgeries, contagious diseases, etc). How is this also related to the fact that OECD nations have trillions of dollars of unfunded pension liabilities? When patients can't get timely care, their lives are shortened. When people in Canada now face painful conditions and long wait lists, the federal government has weakened the laws on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD), which in some cases has become the only 'treatment' left for those with no hope of proper care. These topics are explored in this explainer video. Please subscribe to our channel, inform yourself of how climate dogma has entered so many areas of our lives, skewing reality and practicality. Polar bear hysteria has been generated worldwide by images of starving, sick bears - and though it does happen that polar bears may starve - Dr. Susan Crockford explains that polar bears have a different seasonal feeding pattern than other kinds of bears. In the spring, when seal pups are plentiful and easy to catch, some bears become quite plump. Dr. Crockford also talks about the reproductive patterns of polar bears and the brutal realities of wildlife cannibalism.
