I play a few instruments but REALLY wanted to try playing one of Alé's bass parts.... they seem like fun, and I'll tell ya, they are much more complex than you might think at first! I was shocked... this was I think my 3rd try holding a bass and playing, but the first try on camera, so even with a mistake in it and a bit of timing that isn't nearly perfect, it was a fun take so I'm posting it. Oh, and I learned this by ear from listening to the song longs while driving. I didn't even drive off the road while playing air bass and steering with my knees! Everybody else does that too, right? RIGHT??? I removed the bass from the youtube version of Animosity using RX9. You can slightly hear her bass doubling mine in the intro, but as soon as the drums kick in, then the bass-remover-AI in the app figures out that it was bass (not guitar) and mutes it properly, and it's all me on bass that you hear from then on (mistakes and all). I opted to play finger style, not with a pick, because I'm simply better on bass finger style and never use a pickup normally on this instrument. I prefer pick for guitar, and finger style on bass, just too many years doing it. This is one of my basses, a 6 string Peavey Grind bass, very customized (by me - EMG/Bartolini dual preamps and lots of setup work and fret work), recorded with Quicktime (audio and video together), then put into Reaper DAW for bass amp modelling and level adjustment to mix in the bass-less The Warning mix. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIgq9SJ5vFA
