This is important because we're about to compare it to the Jaguar version. It's really hard to explain anything about these games because, unless butchered, they all play roughly the same way.

If an entire game were built around the snowspeeder level of Shadows of the Empire...oh wait, they did do that. And it was/is awesome. It is lacking a little bit of the control that us coming over from X-Wing would have liked, but you couldn't really beat the presentation at the time.
Likely gonna get a copyright claim, but who cares. The music practically makes this game A+.

I'd almost say I'm surprised that this is the second carnival shooting game I've played today, except it's the Atari, so once a game gets made it reproduces like bunnies. It is the better of the two, though, just due to its presentation.

This one has always confused me. I've had this before, but I never got engaged when I fired it up originally. Each time I play it, I see something new and it sort of reminds me of Blaster Master in most ways. I never go into it with the questing mindset, though, which involves actually paying attention to the map and goals. This has been where I have kinda failed, because you can't just throw yourself into it expecting a shooter. It takes some adventuring, too. I suppose that means that the dual-gameplay system is a pro and a con. It mixes things up, but the two styles don't quite match. So as far as giving this a fair shot, you won't get it from me yet. I don't know enough to form an opinion. You won't be lacking in thoughts on it, though...it's heralded as a hidden gem.

Again, just ticking off the expensive ones because everyone deserved to see what these games looked like. But is there much to see? No, not really, although it would be a lot better if I hooked up the right controller to this. Sticks and d-pads don't work well here.

Something about 80's movie sequels just works perfectly. Aliens had the same thing going on. Just action shooty goodness letting you just unleash a massive amount of firepower to have fun. It's got the DNA nailed down pretty well except just one thing...where is the ultra violence? There's no blood or explodey mooks, no snarky advertising...this would be the perfect target for a fan mod of some kind.
Anyway, that was just nitpicky. It's awesome. Play it.

It is a basic baseball game for the Game Gear and that's about all I can say about it that's important. There's not much to love, but also nothing of note to hate except that your experience with the ghosting screen might hinder or help you. Seriously, the ball is effectively a tracer round and it might actually help you keep track of it better while you're batting.

It's...just a Culture Brain game. They are pretty well known for having games that sound good on paper but look and play like they're B-level games.

Wow. I knew the first game was a pleasant surprise, but there's a sequel and it has all of the good parts while even fixing some of the weaker parts. It's just bigger and better all around. The animation and layering is amazing, the challenge feels just right, and the game just feels like it has a knowing attitude about how good it is. I'm genuinely surprised that this isn't brought up more, especially considering how much love Treasure games get. This seems perfect alongside those, yet it gets left out.
