I have JUST plugged this in and so far it exceeds my expectation. Works with any radio although deep inside the guts, Flex is supported heavily as well as Yaesu and Icom. But any radio will work with this. You just need an ethernet connection between your shack and this box (and a 12V supply) to your shack bulkhead. In my case, it's going out in the field in a professional electrical metal box. I will show you that video at a later date - this is my initial findings. Enjoy! Callum.

So I checked the DX Commander Lite sizing at the workshop. The aluminium plates as well as the main guy point fits! We will need to make sure that we use an extra hose clamp (with aquarium tubing) around the top of the very first section though to ensure the guy doesn't pull the mast down. So although I love the idea of a small one-man company, I am actually still ambitious. But I'm frightened of growth and everything that can go wrong when I do grow. What to do about it? Discuss. Callum.

Note: Part 2 of this video will not be filmed until after winter 2018 is complete. We'll report back on durability and any failures that may have happened at that time.

Thanks to James for hosting this long-term test of the DX Commander ABV. Instead of using hose-clamps, we glued the sections together with an epoxy resin (cheap stuff like Araldite, unlike fibreglass goop). Fine tuning brought the SWR in as per film.
Full disclosure: A long length of coax will have an effect of making your SWR curves look a bit better than they are at the feedpoint. The analysis shown in the film was at the end of a 100m run of RG213 we borrowed from our "low-band" stock.
If you have an onboard ATU, then you will seriously not have an issue. James and I run amplifiers and do not run COAX through ATUs. Actually, I do run an AT-4K but I only use it to measure SWR and Power etc unless I'm running balanced feeder to a doublet.
Cut dimensions as follows and you will have a usable antenna.
40m 9.67m + foldback of 1.14 + loop of 10cms total wire at 7m height
30m 6.88m + foldback of 6cms
20m 4.89m + foldback of 6 cms
17m 3.83m + foldback of 6 cms
15m (tunes with 40m band as a 5/8th)
12m 2.78m + foldback of 6 cms
10m 2.45m + foldback of 5 cms

I might be too early for USA but Newfoundland / NY and FLorida might come in before I stop. Anyway.. I managed to lever the DX Commander Expedition into the front garden of this holiday rental house.. This is 6-feet / 2m wide and about 25 feet / 8m or so wide. It's RIGHT on the road so I have to be careful it doesn't come down! Pefect tune on all bands just not 20m - but there are stainless wires at around 5m long holding the decking rail in place. I guess they are just the right length to give me a nasty balance to the 20m tune. ATU fixes it. Great tune on all other bands. So I'm available on 40m, 20m, 17m, 15m and 10m bands. SInce it's night-time, let's call on 40m and see who we can say hello to! Using callsign M0XXT/P so that Tim (M0URX) can do the QSLing. I say this because I don't QSL M0MCX. I don't have the time sorry. 73, Callum.

Final bite-sized session on Tech Basics (bar ADC and DCA). A little more on resistors, batteries, AC and DC current. After this, we'll move on to transmitters, receivers and propagation.
Ideally suited to Amateur Radio (ham radio) Foundation Students in the UK. This series covers the 2018 and 2019 specification syllabus.
Me: My name is Callum, callsign M0MCX. The whole DX Commander brand was a bit of an "accident" since I already have 2 day-jobs (I own a couple of tech companies).
Everything I make, I use myself. My products are the answer to *my* problems so I made stuff that worked for me. I don't make gear that doesn't work and although I'm considered not short of a few dollars, I love the idea of making things economical, easy to build and as efficient as you can achieve on a tight budget (hey, I hate wasting money!).
My store is here: https://www.m0mcx.co.uk/store/products/ and I ship (almost) worldwide.
Russia seems to be too expensive however EU, USA, Canada and VK land still make my products economical when you include shipping.
