The 80's Alvin and The Chipmunks series was known for occasionally featuring some other talking chipmunk characters besides the ones of the core cast. In the 21st century era of the franchise though, no such characters have appeared so far, and things might stay that way. This is something that I haven't seen a lot of fans talking about, so I decided to give my analysis as to why this may be.

Though a franchise catered towards kids, I believe there is potential to make a film about Clifford that would appeal to older audiences. Not by having the fictional characters do anything above a PG rating mind you, but rather a film based on the real-life events that lead to the franchise's conception. The story of how Norman Bridwell created Clifford is one like no other; and telling it in the form of a biopic film would be a great way to get the general public aware of his historical significance.

There has been a lot of Alvin and The Chipmunks merchandise over the years, with some very obscure pieces that have become collectors items in the fan base. But from the inception of the live action films and onward, there has been noticeably less toys, décor, and anything else that could have the Chipmunks likeness printed on it. Should there be more merchandise? Is Bagdasarian Productions to cautious with licensing out the brand?

One lesser talked about mystery from the 2015 Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks series is how the Chipmunk and Chipette characters have individual birthdays from each other in separate episodes. Especially considering how they've always been depicted at sets of triplets in the past, and the conflicting evidence of whether they still are.
