400 P@lest!ini@ns are thought to be dead and injured after Israel dropped six "US-made bombs", each carrying a tonne of explosives on G@za's Jabalia Refugee Camp. The P@lest!ini@n Ministry of Health is describing it as Israel's "worst massacre yet".
100 deaths have been confirmed so far as locals and rescue workers continue trying to recover bodies from multiple destroyed buildings. The majority of victims are women and children and video footage shows children being operated on without anaesthesia due to a lack of medical supplies.
G@za's Interior Ministry says the six bombs each carried one tonne of explosives. The director of G@za's Civil Defense, Ahmad al-Kahlout, told journalists: “These buildings house hundreds of citizens. The occupation’s air force destroyed this district with six US-made bombs. It is the latest massacre caused by Israeli aggression on the G@za Strip. The international community must act immediately to stop Israel before it is too late.”
Worldwide extreme flash floods have dominated headlines for months, bringing devastation, displacement, and death, especially in the Global South. Floods are occurring due to increasing temperatures in the world's oceans which have reached record levels.
58% of the world's CO2 emissions since 1751 have come from the United States and Europe alone, even though they account for barely 10% of the world's population, according to data from the Global Carbon Project.
The floods should be a warning because they are only a taste of the future impact of climate change. Over 1.2 billion climate refugees are expected by 2050, the Institute for Economics and Peace has warned.

Discover the shocking truth about Kenya's flower industry in our upcoming documentary "Deadly Bloom: Multinational Flower Farms in Kenya" out March 15 @ 1700 CET.
A five month red. investigation into the global flower industry has uncovered extreme abuses by multinational corporations in Kenya, the world's third largest exporter of cut flowers.
In 2022, the flower industry was worth $50 billion dollars and while some of the industry's biggest players like Dümmen Orange rake in a turnover of approximately $370 million annually, Kenyan Flower Farm workers make as little as $55 dollars a month.
If you live in Europe, you probably buy these flowers. 40% of Europe’s roses come from Kenya where our investigation has uncovered evidence of illegal chemical use, widespread corruption and tax evasion, with serious consequences for the health of workers and the environment. Women have suffered miscarriages due to chemical spraying, while fishermen and politicians who speak out against these practices have received death threats. Toxicologists have found evidence of banned chemicals, and doctors report high rates of illness and fertility problems among flower farm workers.

On this day in 1947, U.S. Cold War paranoia reached its pinnacle when President Harry Truman signed Executive Order 9835 to tackle alleged communist infiltration.
Also known as the "loyalty order" it paved the way for 3 million government employees to come under investigation, and was the prelude to the anti-communist witch hunts known as McCarthyism led by Republican Senator Joseph McCarthy.
Because of the order, the FBI were allowed to research the associations and beliefs of federal employees and if “derogatory information” was found they could begin a field investigation. These investigations used confidential witnesses and involved 150 "loyalty boards" in different government departments. Employees could be fired if “reasonable doubts” existed about their loyalty to the U.S. There was no right of appeal against the decision made by loyalty boards.
300 government employees were dismissed for allegedly being a security risk while 5,000 offered voluntary resignations following investigations with many taking place during humiliating public congressional hearings. No espionage charges were launched as a result of the order.
A list of “subversive organizations” was released which included the Communist Party which was labeled an organization that aimed to “ alter the form of Government of the United States by unconstitutional means.”
Truman signed the order under pressure from Republican paranoia about Soviet spies in the U.S. government and amidst deteriorating relations with the U.S.S.R. following the breakdown of the wartime alliance and growing public support for leftist politics around the world in the post-war era .
It started a wider series of witch hunts of American communists and left-wing activists throughout the early 1950s whereby thousands of people who were accused of being communists were denied employment opportunities, had their passports revoked, and even faced criminal charges.

Outrage burst through the streets of Paris following the announcement that President Emmanuel Macron will force through his wildly unpopular pension reforms without a vote in France’s National Assembly. As the news broke, clashes between striking workers and police kicked-off.
Macron is triggering article 49.3 of the French constitution which permits the government to declare a bill “adopted” without a vote in the National Assembly - the lower house of the French Parliament.
The anti-democratic move will provoke even further anger from the millions of people who have been on strike and out on the streets for months against the reforms which will slash pension rights.
Head of the French Communist Party, Fabien Roussel, said: “This government is not worthy of our Fifth Republic, of French democracy. Until the very end, parliament has been ridiculed, humiliated.”
Macron’s government initially claimed the reforms, which will raise the retirement age and force people to work more consecutive years, were designed to make the system “fairer”. It has more recently admitted that the true goal was “savings”. Macron, a former investment banker, last year awarded himself a pay rise, bringing his monthly salary to 15,737 euros citing "inflationary pressures"
