My second-year film for NYU and final project for NYU Experimental Animation, Spring 2022
Software Used: Clip Studio Paint EX, Adobe Premiere Pro
-
My second ever attempt at a full-blown animation project, this film depicts exactly what it's like to have an idea for a film, starring Mio Mye. This is the definitive cut, complete with color and remixed sound.

My first year film for NYU and final project for NYU Intro to Animation, Fall 2020
Software Used: Toon Boom Harmony 20, Adobe Premiere Pro

My first ever attempt at a full-blown animation project, this film depicts Thomas Alva Edison in one of his many attempts to "invent" the lightbulb.

Funnily enough, this is actually an alternate cut of the project presented to my professors and classmates, with a few cut scenes to change the specific context of the story. But what about the original, you may ask? It's an idea I couldn't do justice, not yet at least. Perhaps I'll post the unfinished alternate cut one day, but I'm intrigued by the concept of holding onto lost media so early into my career. For now, it will exist only in the faint memories of roughly 20 or so people.

A random podcast I recorded after waking up from a mid-day nap, basically just a pure, unfiltered stream of consciousness. Let the record show that I will never record another episode again.

The world begins to go dark. My third short film project for NYU Tisch's Sight & Sound Filmmaking class, shot entirely in my basement over the course of a few hours. Uploaded here for archival purposes.

I remember Florence Place. There was a sign, but no street. Now, there's no sign. Where did it go?

A Zoetrope animation about a girl, her ball, and some fun stylization. Quite a challenge to animate straight-ahead and without reference at the same time, but all in all, it took roughly 3 hours to put together.

The Duckbunny is a short 1920 silent animated film by American cartoonist Leandro Arenas. This five-second clip depicts what seems to be some kind of humanoid robot resembling a rabbit whose head gradually turns into that of a duck, along with the sprouting of four arms (presumably wings?) This character is known to be based on the famous "Kaninchen und Ente" ("Rabbit and Duck") illustration, an optical illusion originating in Germany comedy magazine Fliegende Blätter in 1892. The film was found in the decaying wine cellar of an anonymous Bolivian film collector in the 1950s and was subsequently restored over the course of the last few years.

Despite having essentially no historical significance, this film continues to exist as a "cool-lookin' thing" among random internet heathens. Some suspect that these recurring fans may just multiple accounts managed by one person who's really trying to push this thing, but this remains unproven.

(This wasn't actually made in 1920 by the way, just a little fun I had with an animation test)
