God has done a lot of wonderful things in our past. We are so thankful for that. But God is not just about the past. His grace is also new every morning. No matter how difficult yesterday was, today is always a new day.
7 Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. 8 Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers, 9 and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written: “For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, And sing to Your name.” 10 And again he says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!” 11 And again: “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!” 12 And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.” 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:7-13)
The church must not be a place of rejection or segregation but of acceptance and love. Unfortunately, this does not happen automatically. People who become followers of Christ through faith in Him must be reminded that they are not simply saved individually for their own individual comfort. They are saved to form a community of faith that is inclusive for all kinds of people. Forming such communities of acceptance and love must be our priority as we follow Christ in this world.

Main Idea: “We must accept one another because of Christ.” (“Dapat tanggapin natin ang isa't isa dahil kay Cristo.”)
Why should we accept one another?
Three Important Reasons
1. Because of the example of Christ (7).
2. Because of the mission of Christ (8-9).
3. Because of the vision of Christ (10-13).

Overcoming Anxiety | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
(A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.) 1 Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! 2 Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” 3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. 4 I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. 7 Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. 8 From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. (Psalm 3:1-8)
There are many things that can trigger anxiety in our hearts. We may feel overwhelmed as we think about the many problems that we face in our lives. So we worry and stay awake all night. How we long for peace in the midst of our anxious thoughts! But the solution can only be found in God's presence. We must choose to trust in Him by presenting our situation to God in prayer instead of being anxious.

Effective Witnessing | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
57 When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. 58 Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy. 59 On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, 60 but his mother spoke up and said, “No! He is to be called John.” 61 They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who has that name.” 62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. 63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.” 64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God. 65 All the neighbors were filled with awe, and throughout the hill country of Judea people were talking about all these things. 66 Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking, “What then is this child going to be?” For the Lord’s hand was with him. (Luke 1:57-66)
We are called to be witnesses of the Gospel. Sharing the Good News with others is our privilege and responsibility. But not many of us are doing it effectively. Effective witnessing is all about sharing the Good News to others so that they are persuaded to trust God also. But how do we do that in such a way that we do not alienate people in the process?

Unless we understand and believe the true Good News of Jesus, we will not live according to His will for us. We will miss the blessing of being His apprentices in this world. Our opportunities to glorify Him will be wasted because our lives will not be centered on Jesus. In other words, we will gain the whole world but forfeit our souls.

When some thought seems good at first, especially if there is some cause associated with it, even if it is good, don't quickly assume it is from God. It's important to understand this principle.

13 Lord, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death, 14 that I may declare your praises in the gates of Daughter Zion, and there rejoice in your salvation. (Psalm 9:13-14)
Being persecuted is a difficult experience. We experience hostility, harassment, and ill-treatment from others because of our beliefs. They may use verbal abuse or maybe even physical abuse. We may suffer because we choose to stand by our faith. Through intimidation and threats, they do all they can to force us to conform. How can we find comfort during such difficult times?

Main Idea: “When persecuted, our comfort will come from the Lord.” (“Kapag inuusig, ang kaginhawaan natin ay magmumula sa Panginoon.”)
How can we find comfort in times of persecution?
Two Ways
1. By knowing that the Lord sees (v.13).
2. By knowing that the Lord saves (v.14).

raising God as King | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 25, 2022
Text: Psalm 47:1-9
Often we only associate worship on Sundays. We fail to see the necessity of praising God at all times and in all situations. We must learn to acknowledge Him as our King, not just on weekends but each and every day of our lives. In other words, we must learn to praise Him as our King regardless of our situation.

When trouble comes, we must learn how to face it by faith, trusting in the Lord at all times, even when we do not fully understand what is happening. But, sometimes, there are also reasons that we must also discern with God's help.
