Good morning, everyone! The title of Day 5 of RLCC Daily Devo is: "Staying Focused on God's Timing"
Our Scripture passage is: Genesis 16 to 20
Meditation: Deviation from your mission is a constant temptation. Once your mission becomes clear, be aware of the tendency to deviate from it. Stay focused and stay on track in spite of the hindrances. God will help you.
Personal Application: Take a moment to clarify your mission in life, aligning it with God's plan. Recognize that deviations are constant temptations, but commit to staying focused and on track despite challenges. Trust that God will guide you in fulfilling His mission for your life.
Prayer: Lord, help me to clarify and commit to Your mission for my life. I acknowledge the constant temptations to deviate. Grant me the strength and focus to stay on track, knowing that Your guidance and support are with me. In Jesus' name, amen.

Is it possible to be spiritual in spite of your busyness? Those who are busy seem to think that it's an impossible task. But there is a way to pursue a spiritual life that can alter the imbalance of a busy life. We can learn that from the story of Zacchaeus. (Luke 19:1-10)

When Bad Things Happen To Good People | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 19, 2022
Text: Psalm 44:1-26
When we know we are at fault, it is easier to accept when bad things happen to us. But when we know that we are not doing anything wrong, it is harder to accept. We begin to ask the Lord all sorts of questions. Often, our questions are wrong because our focus is on the character of God rather than on ourselves.

Our Confidence in God | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 21, 2022
Text: Psalm 46:1-11
There are many things in this world that can terrify us. We feel so small and helpless in the face of so many overwhelming dangers. How can we live in this world with courage and confidence? Thankfully, we have our God who sustains and protects us. But we need to understand the basis of our confidence in God.

What is the basis of our confidence in God?
Three Realities that we believe by faith
1. God's abiding presence (vv.1-3, 7, 11)
2. God's amazing power (vv.4-6)
3. God's absolute purpose (vv.8-10)
Central Idea: “We are completely safe in this world because of who God is.” (“Lubos tayong ligtas sa mundong ito dahil sa kung sino ang Diyos.”)

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. (Luke 2:1-7)
Sometimes when we think about the birth of Jesus, we only think about it as a cute story. We may add some religious meanings to it, but it is still just a nice story that we tell children during Christmas time. We don't really see it as something personal, something that can and must affect us personally. That's why it's good to revisit and ponder upon the story of the birth of Christ even though it is not yet Christmas time. Perhaps, we may be able to see how personally meaningful it is for all of us.

Main Idea: “The birth of Jesus is Good News for us personally.” (“Ang pagsilang ni Jesus ay personal na Mabuting Balita para sa atin.”)
How is the birth of Jesus personally meaningful?
Three Ways
1. Born within history: He is part of the story of humanity (vv.1-3).
2. Born through human ancestry: He is like us with a family story (vv.4-5).
3. Born in humility: He can relate with us who are ordinary (vv.6-7)

The fear of evangelism can stem from various sources. Some people may worry about rejection or ridicule from others, fearing that their beliefs will be met with skepticism or hostility. Others may feel inadequate in their knowledge or ability to articulate their faith effectively. We must overcome our fear of evangelism.

Practicing solitude has a dual purpose. It allows us to find rest in the Lord and engage in a spiritual battle against the enemies of our soul. Instead of running away from these adversaries, we confront and engage with them. Our inner world is often controlled by the distractions of the world, as we pay more attention to them than to God. To break free from this cycle, we must address these distractions and intentionally carve out a quiet space to be with God. In this peaceful retreat, we can confront the lies that hinder our deepening relationship with God and strive to know and love Him more fully.
