One of the core beliefs of Feminism is that we live in an oppressive patriarchy that has oppressed women since the dawn of time. Women have always been relegated to the status of second-class citizens, damned to a life of housewivery and servitude. Needless to say, this idea is ridiculous and I'll probably do future videos that dive deeper into this topic, as its an extremely large topic to go through (considering how patriarchy theory is integral to feminism. Feminism cannot exist without the belief that we live in a misogynistic patriarchy, just like Abrahamic fundamentalism cannot exist without the belief that non-believers will burn in eternal hellfire). This video is an overview of why patriarchy is a myth, why we don't really live in a patriarchy (or at least, not as Feminism claims us to), and why we should celebrate women's achievements rather than viewing women as 'oppressed.'
