Oct 10, 2019: After the leaders debate at the Canadian Museum of History, Green Party leader Elizabeth May came by the Ottawa Centre Green campaign office to say hi to us, and we all went to a pub next door. I sang her a song I'd written that afternoon, asking her to leave her husband for me. I want to marry her because she's Canada's best chance to save the environment. One of the volunteers was dressed as long-ago Canadian Prime Minister Wilfred Laurier, and his intro to me was long, so I cut out most of it. You can hear Elizabeth joking saying to him: "I don't think you're good at fading away!" Her husband is John Kidder, a Green Party candidate. But I’m a Green Party candidate too. And my short height and bald head make me more green, as you’ll hear in the song. On Oct 10, the team helping Ottawa Centre Green candidate Angela Keller-Herzog was recording music in a volunteer's backyard. I dropped by and decided to quickly write new lyrics to my love song for Elizabeth May that was featured in the news during the 2011 election. Background on the 2011 song: During the 2011 election, I wrote the Love Song for Elizabeth May and tweeted it to her. She tweeted back "I love you too." Immediately I was called by the newspapers. CTV Newschannel sent a limo to bring me to their studio for an interview that was played frequently on their station. CBC Radio played it and called it a "must listen" on their website. Yahoo named it one of the top political videos of the year. And most importantly, it helped get her elected for the first time. The song was about how she wasn't allowed in the debates, and so I would debate her on romantic dates where we would do eco-friendly things. But she's in the debates now. And since that song, I've run for the Green Party provincially and federally. And now there's a more important issue. In April, she got married to John Kidder, who's also running for the Green Party. I want her to leave John for me! I’m running for the Green Party in Thornhill, Ontario. Please vote for me. Also vote for Elizabeth. And, ok, vote for John. Monday, Nov 23, 2020: I decided to live stream at 2:15pm. This was my 2nd live stream. This time I tried setting a time before hand, which allowed me to share the link on Facebook, etc before starting. A few people joined the chat. I showed the green screen I'm building, I showed the images the software lets me put in the background, I showed the snow outside in Ottawa. I talked about names I'm considering as my stage name. I said I wish I had kids to play with in the snow. I tried taking a video call from someone on Instagram, but it was just a prank. So let's keep doing these daily!
