My friend Adam Markowitz is a furniture maker and architect. We shared a workshop for over 5 years but now he is heading out into a new space.
The workshop is in a great location near Northcote and is full of natural light. This is a big improvement over the previous space which was underground with no natural light. The space is much bigger too with high ceilings and some great woodworking machines lined up.
Adam wanted a hand with building cabinets and removing a wall partition so I offered to help.
We stated out by ripping 4 x 8 plywood sheets down to size then cross cutting to the final dimensions. Whilst Adam assembled the cabinets I did some demolition work and then made a couple of plinths for the cabinets.
The wall panels were removed, studs cut to accept a lintel and the lintel installed. The studs and bottom plate were cut out and the opening was looking good.
We placed Adam's cabinets on top of the plinths and screwed them in place.
Finally we installed some upper cabinets and the job was complete!

Two countertops were cast for a pair of counters for Candied bakery in Spotswood. The process is the same as the shelves (see my other videos!) but at a much larger scale.
It was all hands on deck for the pours with four of us working on mixing, spreading and clamping as quickly as we can; the open time is around ~30 minutes before the mixtures begins to harden.
(EDIT) 31 / Aug / 2021: These countertops were recently replaced with new and improved countertops, for more info check out the start to finish supercut video:

This is how I typically manufacture my cabinets. I prefer using portable power tools over stationary machines, even for breaking down sheet goods and especially when cutting joints.
I use Lamello's Zeta P2 system for connecting the panels, I've been using this machine for years which has proven invaluable for my work especially for larger projects which require on-site assemblies.
Mafell's MT 55 cc track saw has a scoring function which reduces chip out of the phenolic resin / melamine surfaces.
The Mafell DD 40 duo doweller combined with a template (32mm system) makes quick work of drilling shelf pin holes.
Festool's VAC SYS vacuum clamping system always comes in handy for super fast work holding and repetitive tasks.
