During that interview, Harrison defended contestant Rachael Kirkconnell after photographs of her appearing at an "Old South" antebellum themed party near a confederate flag surfaced, and after she was accused of sharing a picture of her friend standing near a confederate flag. Shortly after his Extra interview, Harrison was accused of being racially insensitive, to which he immediately apologized and took a hiatus from his hosting position.
