The spiritual writer Henri Nouwen once said that “solitude is not a private, therapeutic place ... it is the place of encounter.” Solitude is not an easy path, but it is the ancient path — the Jesus path — to a strong, deep, joyful, vibrant life with God. Let's talk about practicing solitude.
Christian leaders are called to serve and inspire others based on the ways and teachings of Christ. However, like all leaders, Christian leaders have blind spots that can impact their credibility. These blind spots are often hidden from the leaders but are obvious to the followers.

31 Jesus went on to say, “To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other: “‘We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.’ 33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children.” (Luke 7:31-35)
In a normal relationship, there will be problems when we fail to listen well to each other. How much more when we fail to listen to God? Some people think it doesn't matter much if we listen or not to God's word. Nothing seems to happen immediately anyway. But what they don't understand is that there are dire consequences.

Main Idea: “Failing to listen to God's word has dire consequences.” (“Ang hindi nakikinig nang tama sa salita ng Diyos ay may malubhang kahihinatnan.”)
What happens when we fail to listen well to God's word?
Two Consequences
1. We fail to respond to God's Word (vv.31-32).
2. We miss the wisdom of God's Word (vv.33-35).

God's Mysterious Works | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. 27 And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” 28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. 32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all. (Romans 11:25-32)
It's easy to get frustrated when we are trying to reach people for Christ. We are doing everything we can to win them but it seems like they continue to refuse the Gospel. This can easily lead to carnal attitudes on our part. We need to understand God's mysterious work in people's lives so that we will not give up. The Lord is working in ways that may not seem obvious to us. But He is still at work. We only need to trust in Him.

Godly Behaviors of Spirit-filled Believers | Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5 for each one should carry their own load. 6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:1-10)
The key to successfully living the Christian life is through the power of the Holy Spirit. Only by walking in the Spirit can we fulfill the will of God and experience the kingdom of God. But how do we know if someone is walking in the Spirit. We would know them through their godly behaviors.

As a follower of Christ, we must constantly do certain activities together with others on a regular basis. Failure to do so will affect our spiritual lives. We will not grow toward spiritual maturity unless we rearrange our lives by faith according to God's kingdom agenda.

The heart of our Savior is for Christian unity. Yet, as we see today, we confront the stark reality of disunity and division among Christians. We cannot experience spiritual revival apart from true Christian unity. The apostle Paul, in Ephesians 4:1-16, offers us a roadmap to how we can pursue this. This urgent need for unity is not new; it has persisted throughout the history of the Church. Today, let us look into God's Word and seek answers on how to maintain unity, so that we may shine as a beacon of Christ's love in a fractured world.

28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. 29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. 31 They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. 32 Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. 33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.) 34 While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” 36 When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen. (Luke 9:28-36)
Being a disciple of Jesus is not just about going through the motions of attending church every Sunday or attending Bible studies. Good as they are, they are not the essence of following Jesus. The essence of following Jesus is learning how to listen to Him. This is what we need to learn. Each and every day, this must be the desire of our hearts, to learn how to listen to Jesus.

Main Idea: “The essence of following Jesus is listening to Him.” (“Ang diwa ng pagsunod kay Jesus ay ang pakikinig sa Kanya.”)
Why is it important for us to learn to listen to Jesus?
Three Reasons
1. God has appointed Him as our only True Savior (vv.28-31).
2. God has set Him apart as unique and better than all (vv.32-33).
3. God speaks to us now through Jesus (vv.34-36; Hebrews 1:1-4)
