In this episode I’m joined by Michelle Evans to discuss the landscape girls face in light of increasing forms of sex-based oppression and the role parents are playing in protecting children in and out of schools. Michelle shares how she became active in combating gender ideology, the damaging messages sent when children are ‘socially transitioned,’ and the sacrifices girls are forced to make as female-only spaces diminish in schools. We discuss the insidious games being played behind the scenes of school board meetings, the attack on parental rights - including the overreach of schools identifying kids as "trans" - and some of the current weaknesses that we must overcome to take effective action against trans ideology. Michelle shares her successes organizing both single issue groups and larger groups with other concerned parents and community members, and offers invaluable insight for those wanting to take action. Michelle is a married mother of three, fitness coach, small business owner, and fierce advocate for families. Her career was in social services before she focused more on political advocacy. She is adamant that women and girls have value and a unique contribution to the world, and is running as a State Representative in Texas to preserve women-only spaces. Jennifer Lahl, author, documentarian, and founder and president of the Center for Bioethics and Culture Network returns to the podcast today! Jennifer has been fighting assisted reproductive technology for 20 years. Her interest was peaked when her college-aged daughters were targeted for egg selling. It was during the height of the stem cell research craze, and she realized that this profit-driven medical research was being built on the backs of vulnerable young women. Her first film, Eggsploitation earned her the wrath of Big Fertility then, but they’ve hardly celebrated her work since. In her most recent article she asks, “Who Owns the Human Body?” examining the ethical implications of using a brain dead woman’s body as a surrogate. If a woman has agreed to be an organ donor, does it follow that her body could be kept on life support in a vegetative state in order to gestate a child for an infertile couple? What about the wellbeing of the fetus, which will grow surrounded by the sound of beeping monitors instead of the sound of its mother’s voice? Assisted reproductive technology comes with many ethical pitfalls, and we’ll explore these, as well as the connection to gender ideology in the sterilization of minors. Many feminists today find themselves politically homeless, on account of the left's support for ideology and legislation that runs counter to material reality, civil liberties, free speech, and women's sex-based rights. At the same time, many women don't feel aligned with right wing values either. Feminists who support free speech, bodily autonomy, and civil liberties have been alienated by a feminist movement invested in political purity and allied with political parties that do not represent them. As a result, many of us have chosen independence over ideology and blind adherence to political labels, allowing us true freedom of thought. Women Leaving the Left addresses the supposedly unspeakable: the things we are not supposed to say, the conversations no one is having, and the issues social media and mainstream media will not allow. This event is the first of its kind. Panelists include: Keri Smith Keri is the host of Deprogrammed and the founder of Civility Dinners, both of which are committed to fostering conversation, creating a culture that respects freedom of speech, and making space for both reason and faith. A liberal and self-described “former SJW" who spent twenty years in “the SJW Cult,” Smith offers firsthand experience on the Social Justice Left and its growing influence in mainstream culture. Mary Lou Singleton Mary Lou is a mother, midwife, nurse practitioner and medical freedom activist. Mary Lou has served on the boards of directors of the Midwives Alliance of North America, the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives, the Stop Patriarchy Abortion Rights Freedom Ride, and the Women’s Liberation Front. She has been speaking out against female erasure in midwifery since 2014 and is the author of an open letter to the Midwives Alliance of North America protesting the removal of the words “woman” and “mother” from the organization’s core competencies for midwives documents. Meghan Murphy Meghan is a Canadian writer who abandoned her home country for Mexico, fearful about the Liberal government's abject disregard for Canadians' constitutional rights and their clamp down on free speech. She founded Feminist Current, Canada's leading feminist website and podcast, in 2012, and hosts The Same Drugs on YouTube and Anchor.fm. In 2017 she testified against Bill C-16, Canada's gender identity legislation, at the Senate — among the only feminists in Canada to speak out against this encroachment on women's rights. Meghan was permanently banned from Twitter in 2018 for challenging gender identity ideology and correctly sexing a man. She has travelled the world speaking about gender identity and women's sex-based rights, despite protests at every venue and attempts to no-platform her at every turn. After being blindsided with trans ideology in her own home and her kids’ schools, she began learning more about this pervasive and destructive movement.
