Taken out of service because it was faulty this lock has been sitting in a draw for many years till it found it's way into my Lock Lab.
Picked this lock open once and then not again so to get this lock open I demonstrate how to use a shim to bypass the core and get the open.
No identifying markings were on this padlock.
6mm steel shackle
43mm x 40mm Steel Body encased in a hardened plastic shell.
Locking pawls secure this lock so it can be bypassed through the core to access the pawls. though I think this maybe the fault in the lock as it is very difficult to release the shackle.

The challenge from Suki, Chris Capune's 20 year old Lock Lab Manager, is to pick any lock, any method of picking and any picks.
The tight curvy Yale profile keyway verses the #NessiePick from #LawLockTools. The lock I am attempting to pick is the Brass Y110/40, 5 pins brand new with 3 keys.
I have tried many times unsuccessfully to spp this lock with my diamond pick and short hooks, only getting an open a couple of times out of luck.
I have decided to try the Nessie just before filming and got an open, so now I am attempting to recreate that open on camera.
The pick is the Nessie the tension tool is a homebrew TOK made from a wiper blade.

Unsecured site we explore the features and locks that are left to go into landfill.
Ornate gate and stunning lead light with a garage full of stuff including a beautiful 1930-1960 ? Circa kitchen cabinet left in the garage. Also a huge workbench.
The demo was halted as the water meter was stolen. In SA you must hose down a demo to keep the dust and particulates down.
Neighbours complained to me about the site being left unsecured. Thus allowing vandals and the stealing of anything salvageable. The neighbours are not happy this house has been destroyed to make way for a staff car park
