Originally uploaded to Youtube on January 18, 2021 In this video, my dad and I rebuild my brothers PC...kind of. We had a lot of problems with this build, and it resulted in the final build being very different from the one that you see in this video. I explain at the end, but here's everything that happened. After we got everything set up and we ran the bench marks, we stopped recording and spent the next two hours trying to figure out how to build the raid array with this particular board. We eventually found a video about it. The video mentioned that the software was glitchy. This video was from 2018, which means it has been glitchy for 2 years, and Asrock still has not fixed it. Anyway, we started following the video step by step, and it got the software to finally work. The raid started building. It took 5 days, and I mean that literally. It took literally five 24 hours periods to build this raid. While the RAID was building, I took all the footage that we had and edited it all together. I wanted to record a little more footage to add at the end. That is absurd, but it did eventually finish. Then my dad updated Windows...and it broke the RAID. It just disappeared, and I have no fucking clue why. At this point, he decided...fuck this. He bought an MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max motherboard (the same one in my build). While we were waiting for that to arrive, he decided that he wanted to rebuild his file server. He bought a Ryzen 5 3600 and 64 GB or RAM. He bought 2 liquid coolers for CPUs, and he bought a 500 gig NMVE SSD for my PC. Before we rebuilt my brothers PC yet again, we put the drive in my PC. WE tried to transfer my Windows install from my 512 gig SSD to the NMVE. That did not work...at all. It corrupted Windows, and I had to reinstall. Stuff on my RAID got corrupted, as well. Keep this in mind. I will come back to it. My dad decided to give the better processor to my brother, so he got the Ryzen 5 3600 and the liquid cooler when we rebuilt. Rebuilding went smoothly, and everything went just fine. I set it up, and I used to to record some gameplay of Metro: Last Light Redux at 4k. My dad and I recorded about 10 more minutes of audio explaining things, After that, I flashed the 5700xt bios onto his video card to give him a performance boost. Here is the final build MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max motherboard Ryzen 5 3600 32 gig of DDR4 RAM @ 3200 AMD Radeon RX 5700 (with the XT bios) 512 gig SSD 6 terabyte SATA3 RAID drive (in four 3 terabyte drives) Cooler Master ML120 RGB CPU cooler It's a good build, but this was not the end of my problems. Remember when I said that I had files corrupt? One of them was the file that I edited together while waiting for the RAID to build. I did not know that that happened because it played all the way through. I could watch it, but every attempt to render it would stop at 51%, and Vegas would crash. I tried this over and over again, and nothing worked. I wound up uploading that file to Youtube on my gameplay channel. I downloaded that, converted it to a video file that Vegas can use and rendered the thing last night while I slept. It's finally done. This was a gigantic headache, but it's done. It's a good build and will be a great gaming PC for my brother. It's been a while since Dalton was on the channel and even longer since him and I did an actual coop playthrough of something, and I think it is time to fix that. We are doing an online coop playthrough of Gears of War 2 for the Xbox 360. I am recording this off of an Xbox 360 at 1080p and 60 FPS. This is a fun game and a definite improvement over the first game, which we previously did a Let's Play of. Originally uploaded to Youtube on April 26, 2019 Here is episode one of Let's Play Final Doom. This is the PC version of the game, and we are playing TNT Evilution. We will play the Plutonia Experiment, as well, so don't worry about that. I have been having computer trouble. I got an Elgato HD60 Pro capture card. After I was done installing it, I put my PC back in place. A little while later, I heard it making a repetitive clunking noise. I turned it off, pulled it out and checked to see what was wrong. The fan blades broke on my video card. I need a new one. While I was running an errand for my grandmother, I had my dad and brother look at it. They wound up duct taping a fan to my video card. It's working, but I still need to replace it. As they were doing it, they knocked out two power cables from two of my harddrives. It broke apart my raid array, and I had to fix that. That went rather smoothly I just need toi save the $200 to $300 to get a new video card. I want a 1660 TI with 6 gig of RAM on it. That would be a huge leap. We recorded about 2 more hours of gameplay, and there will be 6 more episodes from that. I forgot how lengthy this game is, but I am thoroughly enjoying playing through it again. I hope you all are enjoying watching it. I am pretty satisfied with this batch of episodes, as well. I still get occasional slight buzz on his voice, but it's not unbearable like it was. In between recording sessions,. I finished editing together my Halo 3 ODST in depth analysis and review. I posted that up a few days ago, and I am pretty proud of it.
