Many of us struggle to find time for prayer and often find it boring and difficult to focus. We get distracted by our to-do lists and sometimes feel like we’re talking to ourselves or reading a wish list to the sky. We make excuses and feel guilty, then turn to our phones. Prayer can feel like eating vegetables - we know it’s good for us, but few of us actually enjoy it. Let's learn more about the practice of prayer.

People who experience mental health issues often feel confused and uncertain. They may not understand why they are feeling the way they are, and this can be very frustrating. They may also worry that they are becoming a burden to their loved ones, which can lead to feelings of guilt and shame. Deep inside, they are asking themselves, "How can I continue living like this?" They want answers. Without answers, they feel their situation is hopeless. The key to finding hope is to understand how our emotional reactions develop.

Not all types of consolations are from the Lord. We must learn to discern when the enemy of our souls is trying to deceive us through false consolations.

The Personal Meaning of Jesus' Birth | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. (Luke 2:1-7)
Sometimes when we think about the birth of Jesus, we only think about it as a cute story. We may add some religious meanings to it, but it is still just a nice story that we tell children during Christmas time. We don't really see it as something personal, something that can and must affect us personally. That's why it's good to revisit and ponder upon the story of the birth of Christ even though it is not yet Christmas time. Perhaps, we may be able to see how personally meaningful it is for all of us.

We must learn to receive feedback. It's important for our spiritual growth and maturity. Without feedback, we can remain ignorant of our own faults or the areas where the Lord wants to transform us.

Join me this coming Friday, July 28, as we learn together how to practice the Sabbath as born-again Christians. It's not just an Old Testament practice; it's for us, too. We don't want to miss the blessings of experiencing God's rest as He promised. Our first session is entitled "Stop."
If you want to be part of the group that is learning to practice Sabbath, and if you want to access the full video of John Mark Comer as well as other resources, click here https://lpal.net/u/XjQ8Yt5VbkDm

Day 1 of RLCC Daily Devo: "Stepping Out in Faith"
Scripture Passage: Hebrews 11:8 (NIV)
"By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going."
Meditation:
Abraham's journey began with a step of faith into the unknown. Think about a time when you had to step out in faith without knowing all the details. What did you learn from that experience?
Personal Application:
Today, reflect on an area in your life where God may be calling you to step out in faith. Trust that His promises accompany your obedience.
Prayer:
Lord, give me the faith to step out into the unknown, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. Amen.
