Sam: Since so much of this analysis has been a function of like what are the implications for the midterms I am of the mind that the build back better the passage of the Build Back Better bill was really more about the sort of policy implications and the political implications. Just like the covid relief bill like that doesn't seem to have meant anything to anybody and and and the expiration of the unemployment benefits. I mean, I think you have a slow degradation and disengagement by the base. Which I think could very well be very problematic by the midterms. But you also know negative partisanship becomes very important. I think the real thing is going to be really the vaccine mandates and the potential to roll out I don't know more at-home testing and you know like this Pfizer anti-covid pill. Or the Merck one. or you know some other nameless anti you know covet bill or the vaccinations for kids. like that could change everything. Alex: Yeah I mean as always it's hard to see in the covet era. It's like we don't know what the world's gonna look like soon. But I don't know if I think it could be the case where things are back to normal enough and the economy largely depends on energy prices. but the economy is doing well enough that the election can be held entirely on weightless cultural issues. like I actually think that that's like a kind of a real possibility I have. which is it's kind of to some extent what happened in Virginia I think. like the things they were talking about had real causes. But it was kind of just like you know if there if the crisis feels mostly done we can just go back to screaming about nonsense. Democratic Governor Tim Walz has signed a universal school meals bill into law, granting free breakfast and lunch to all K-12 students, regardless of their parents' income in Minnesota.
