I recorded my character exploring Mhaura. This small town is by Buburim Peninsula. I don't remember spending a lot of time in Mhaura the first time I played Final Fantasy 11, and I didn't spend much time my 2nd time. These days, people gather in Mhaura to do an end-game event called Ambuscade.
Before Treasures of Aht Urhgan, Jeuno was the most popular nation for people to set their home point and do business. Once players hit level 20, they made the trek to Jeuno to get a Chocobo license to rent a Chocobo. Riding a Chocobo was much faster than running and much safer because players weren't attacked while riding. White Mages used to stand in Jeuno and shout offers to teleport players for a small fee.

Archangelx is my original character in Final Fantasy 11 when I played for the first time between 2004 - 2006. I added the x at the end because the name was already taken. I played on the Ragnarok server/realm. I played on a desktop running Windows XP. I wasn't sure what job I wanted to take to the max level which was 75 at the time, so I tried Warrior, Monk, Black Mage, White Mage, and I vaguely remember unlocking and playing summoner. I loved Carbuncle. I eventually decided to go with Black Mage as my main job with White Mage as the sub job. I got Archangel to level 64 before I quit. I wish I had taken more screenshots of me playing Archangel.
I was a member of several linkshells. The one I remember and stayed with the longest was DigitalBackSpin. There were some helpful people in that linkshell, and I wish I had kept in touch with them. Airimis was the leader and Dagaz is his wife. If either of you find this video, I hope you both are doing well. One player I remember is Unctgtg. He was a Darknight that got his relic scythe upgraded to max level. That was a big deal back then.
I deleted Archangel when I rage quit Final Fantasy 11 in 2006. I wish I had not done that. As for my in-game explanation aka fanfiction explanation for what happened, here's my story. Archangel disappeared while on a mission exploring the inside of a crag. Years later, his daughter, Alexandra Star, followed in his footsteps and became an adventurer too. She decided to go hone her skills as a Black Mage with Red Mage as her sub job. Alexandra eventually found Archangel's body during a mission in Promyvion - Dem and was able to give him a proper burial.
The song I used is "Voracious Resurgence Unknown 1."

Exploring Aht Urhgan. I entered the nation of Aht Urhgan from the boat because that's how players enter for the 1st time. The first time I entered Aht Urhgan, I was impressed with the music. I had never heard music like that before. I still haven't heard music like this anywhere else.
As for Treasures of Aht Urhgan, It introduced a type of fight that I really enjoyed called Besieged. Powerful enemies attacked the city, and anyone could join the fight at any time. The problem was everyone's framerate would drop terribly low, and not all the monsters and players could be seen at the same time. I don't know if it was a game engine limitation or if the hardware available couldn't handle it.
However, Treasures of Aht Urhgan was my least favorite expansion. I bought it not long after it was released. It introduced at least one type of enemy that duplicated offensive spells back on the party. Because of this, Black Mages were no longer invited to parties. I was also harassed by other players when I tried to solo certain mobs. I ended up rage-quitting in 2006.
I still remember standing in Al Zahbi by the Residential Area and yelling that I was giving away all my stuff and quitting the game. Someone yelled that I'd be back. I deleted my character after giving away all my Gil and tradable items, uninstalled the game, canceled my sub, and destroyed the install discs in the microwave. When I say I rage quit, I am not exaggerating. I had no idea that I would return 12 years later. I wish I had not deleted my character. I learned the hard way that people should never delete a character in an MMO because they might want to play again later.

This is a quick look at a guest room in Adoulin. It's like a hotel for players away from home. It doesn't cost anything to use one. They can't be customized. The Moogle concierge can access your items in storage and help you put items in storage. If you park your character here, you can log out or shut down the game immediately.

I recorded my character exploring Ru'Aun Gardens. Back in the day, this area used to be called Sky. It's an area I didn't get to visit until I came back to the game and played a 2nd time. I love the idea of a city floating in the sky like this, but I also don't like heights. I'd feel uneasy when I'd walk my character close to the edge. Ru'Aun Gardens looks amazing at night.
