Xenon Ranger is a mix between shoot'em up and platformer. It was developed and published by British company Alpha Omega Software (later renamed to The Power House).
The game is divided into a shoot'em up and a platforming section. The screen is split, and the shoot'em up section takes in the upper half, the platforming part in the lower half. In the shoot'em up section, you can fly around freely left and right with your ship. You need to find energy containers and bring them to a certain spot. You can carry one container at a time. Enemies will spawn again and a again, but you have a shot to take them out. Once you've gathered enough energy, you get transferred to the platforming section. Here you need to find your way through a labyrinth to a stargate to get home. There are switches in the mabyrinth you need to find in order to deactivate robots which are blocking your way. If you run out of lives in the platforming section, you get thrown back to the shoot'em up section with increased difficulty, and you need to collect energy again.
Mission Andromeda (also know as Andromeda Mission) is a shoot'em up published by German company Demonware.
The game looks like Space Harrier, but with a more angular view. There are no obstacles and you also cannot lift off the ground. Since you can only fire one or two shots at a time, having two wait until they hit or leave the screen, gameplay is also a bit like Space Invaders from a different point of view.
Shooting down enemies will build up a shield. As long as the shield is left, hits by shots will only decrease the shield instead of killing you. Collisions with enemies, however, are deadly.

Defeated enemies will sometimes leave power-ups. These include stronger weapons, a weapon power upgrade or a giant net which covers most of the screen and slows down enemies.
