Animal Suffering ============= Not only humans suffer on this planet called "Earth"! ======================================== An acquaintance once approached me and told me the story of his visit to a turkey slaughterhouse. Actually, he described in great detail how such a slaughter took place at this company. But I'll try to shorten it a little: The animals are first stunned (I hope I remember correctly; if I'm wrong, please write me a note); and this happened in his story about electricity, i.e. "electric shocks"... The stunned turkeys are hung on the feet, upside down, on a device (a conveyor belt). Maybe the turkeys were also stunned during the passage of the belt after they were hung on the treadmill (I don't remember that exactly). The belt is now moving. The heads of the animals are directed downwards. The stunned animals wander (sometimes exceptions might happen), head down, along the conveyor belt and a sharp knife at the bottom (at neck height) of another second device cuts off their heads. *zacccc* The fact that quite a few animals have to die per day for the needs of humans should now be realized by every person! ========================================================================================= When my acquaintance had finished telling his story, I could feel his renewed anger. He apparently did not like to remember the scenario and he said that he had become really sick on the spot. Furthermore, he also said that he would actually "wish" us humans to be conquered by aliens, who then treat us exactly as we do with turkeys (or other slaughter animals). That we humans are actually generally "sick", so that just fell in a subordinate clause. Now the supermarkets (...) could, for example, order to deliberately (according to a law or whatever) produce less meat or to buy much smaller masses of meat products... But here big quarrels (a "war") among the customers would probably be inevitable (if the stupid neighbor gets the last steak). If one were to make it generally much more expensive than before, one could at least blame the poorer people that it is their own fault that they cannot afford it. And what are the above options for our capitalists? Unfortunately, I, myself, also still eat meat. I was able to consciously reduce it, but unfortunately not yet completely discontinue it. Maybe this written text will make me a hypocrite then – most likely. Unfortunately, one also wonders what one can achieve as an individual if the refrigerated shelves at EDEKA (=a brand of German supermarkets,...) are actually always full to the brim with "cheap meat"... every day.
