Didn't know you could get "even more" stuck in the ceiling on 8-2... Would have killed myself sooner if I knew it was unsalvageable, but I never had that happen before. It probably cost sub 20.
Finally got the deathless* run I was looking for. Run was early onto the session so I was still warming up, and it took me 20 seconds to get the ceiling clip in 8-2, but it was still a clean run.
Also since my splits are so messed up and it's too late to fix them, my final time is always ~2s off. Since I got a bit too excited and split early, it was only about 1.5s off this time. Final time is a 16:51.

After creating my 12:30 Naruto TAS, I was set out to see how low the time could go when using the best character in the game, Kakashi.
This TAS was a huge learning experience, and there were many things I learned during my first Kakashi TAS attempt (which ended in a 10:07 time). Upon restarting the entire TAS, I did everything I could to save every possible frame. The biggest time save of this second attempt came from me manipulating away every single jutsu in the run. This was an incredible feat and definitely what allowed me to get sub 10.
Regarding the intricacies of Kakashi's attacks, perhaps I can explain it better over text. There are two main gimmicks to Kakashi's attacks, one that occurs when you input an attack the frame before an attack comes out, and the other that occurs when you input an attack two frames before the attack comes out. If you do it the frame before, his hitbox will come out for a single frame ON the next frame, and on that very next frame, he will start the animation for the next attack. This allows Kakashi to attack unbelievably quickly, and it absolutely melts health bars. If you do it two frames before, the hitbox for the attack never comes out, and the next attack animation begins on the next frame.
This is only really useful for manipulating an enemy, or during the rock lee fights where we only use the last attack to finish him off (and cancel the first two attacks so the hitbox never comes out), to avoid Might Guy interfering.
Another big part of this TAS is minimizing the amount of scrolls collected. Any level that could possibly have the scroll skipped, skips the scroll. This was a huge time save as getting the scrolls often involve waiting for chakra to build up, going out of the way for the scroll, and then using the jutsu to get past some obstacle.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about this TAS, and I will respond to any/all of them! Hope you guys enjoyed my TAS, and was happy to premiere it at the Anime Speedruns Festival. Peace!
