Welcome onboard the Air Canada Express Q400 once again! Here is my return flight from Comox to Vancouver that I took in October 2022 after spending two weeks on Vancouver Island at the Outward Bound Canada training academy. Like my other Q400 flight, this was very enjoyable, and everything felt very familiar considering my 11 months of flying experience with the FlyJSim Q4XP on X-Plane 11 before these two flights. The weather was clear for the first half of the flight before entering a smoke cloud that was caused by bushfires on Vancouver Island. That smoke was hovering over our campsite the previous day and had blown over to the mainland when I took this flight. Overall, the experience was very similar to my other Q400 flight. As a kind request from some of my friends who have watched my videos, I have added Indigenous land information on the locale information on the top right, changing as the flight progresses. Likewise, I have filmed this exact route on the Pacific Coastal Airlines Beechcraft 1900D in 2021. Though the Q400 has a higher cruising speed, both flights were spent below 10,000 ft which means both were constrained with the 250 knot speed limit. As a result, both flights were almost exactly the same duration. My third time seeing a Concorde, here's a tour of G-BSST, the British-built prototype at Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton Royal Naval Air Station in the southwest of England. Along with French-built prototype F-WTSS, there are a few differences that set apart these prototypes from production models, including the visor that has two portholes, larger windows, different door layout, no thrust reversers, braking parachute, different engines, and escape hatches for the flight crew. G-BSST was built at Filton in Fairford, England and was first flown on 9 April 1969. It last flew on 4 March 1976 to Yeovilton where it has been on display here since. Along with 4 other pre-production aircraft and 14 production aircraft operated by British Airways and Air France, there were a total of 20 Concordes built and the last flight was in 2003. My previous two times seeing a Concorde were both of British Airways, and I saw G-BOAG at Seattle's Museum of Flight in 2016, and G-BOAD at the Intrepid Air & Space Museum in New York in 2006, though all of my photos of that one was on film and unfortunately I couldn't find it. Also this visit to Fleet Air Arm was a rather stressful one as I had only an hour to visit it, as my train schedule from London Paddington was originally from 10:35 arriving at Yeovil Pen Mill around 14:00. After a series of delays and cancellations (which is typical of Great Western Railway) I left Paddington more than an hour late and after switching to slower trains at Reading and Basingstoke, arrived at Yeovil Pen Mill around 15:30, and the taxi ride wasn't available until 16:15 as I did not know that I had to book it quite far in advance.
