Success In Ministry | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah. 16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17 His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” 18 And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them. 19 But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of his marriage to Herodias, his brother’s wife, and all the other evil things he had done, 20 Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison. (Luke 3:15-20)
It's a privilege to serve the Lord. As the Lord leads us, and according to our giftedness and life situations, all of us must serve the Lord one way or the other. Not doing so is a sin. In addition, we must have the right understanding of what it means to be successful in our service to God. Many people want to be successful. But we cannot define "success" based on worldly standards. Instead, we must serve God faithfully according to His standards of success.

How to Relate with Governing Authorities | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. (Romans 13:1-7)
As a people who now lives under a new realm, the realm of the Holy Spirit, our thinking must no longer conform to our old ways of living, which is living in the flesh. Therefore, we cannot continue to live our lives like those who do not know God. Instead, we must be representatives of God. The Gospel affects everything in our lives, especially our relationships. It starts with our relationships with one another in the body of Christ. But it also affects how we relate with the world. First of all, we must learn to be submissive toward governing authorities.

It's important to understand why Jesus died on the cross. Failure to understand that will result in our failure to believe in Him in order to be saved.

Text: Luke 12:49-13:9
When a person hears the Gospel, he or she is faced with a crisis. Will he or she believe and entrust everything to the Lord or will he or she just continue on as if the Lord did not confront him or her with the Gospel? This is the crisis of faith. We have to decide and we need to decide in the right way, that is, we must believe rather than reject the Gospel now. Not deciding is already a decision and we will be held accountable for rejecting the truth.

Central Idea: “The crisis of faith is the crisis of discernment and decision-making.” (“Ang krisis ng pananampalataya ay krisis ng paghiwatig at paggawa ng desisyon.”)
Why do we need to decide now?
Three Reasons
1. Enough grace is already working (12:49-53).
2. Enough evidence is already available (12:54-59).
3. Enough time is already being given (13:1-9).

Unique Ways of Worshiping the Lord | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
19 But you, Lord, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me. 20 Deliver me from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs. 21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions; save me from the horns of the wild oxen. 22 I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly I will praise you. 23 You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! Revere him, all you descendants of Israel! 24 For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help. 25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you I will fulfill my vows. 26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the Lord will praise him — may your hearts live forever! 27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, 28 for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations. 29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him — those who cannot keep themselves alive. 30 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. 31 They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it! (Psalm 22:19-31)
It's important to worship the Lord. But often our idea of worship is so limited. We think it's only about songs and music. Sometimes we think worship is just a one-night concert! There is more to worship than that. There are other unique ways of worshiping the Lord that we have not yet explored.
