House Party version of the song, "White Crosses."
We wrote this one after a series of bad experiences with trucker speed, more commonly referred to as white crosses. They have a cross embossed on the tablet, but they make your head itch, along with all of the usual side effects.
Lyrics:
I didn't mean to hurt you
I didn't want to break your heart in two
I didn't mean to say the things that I said to you
And even though you don't get tired, oh!
Even though you don't get tired, no!
It will break you down
Benzadrine will stay you
A purple Heart brought m straight back home to soon
I broke the top, with one White Cross that I saved for you
And even though you don't get tired, oh
Even though you don't get tired, oh no
It will break you down
It will break you down
I didn't mean to hurt you
I didn't want to cut your town in two
I didn't mean to say the things that I said to you
And even though you don't get tired, oh!
Even though you don't get tired, no!
It will break you down
East Orange:

"Soul Mistake" -- off the literally perfect record, Shabooh Shoobah, by INXS.
This record got me through so much 80's heartbreak. I love this record more than almost any other. It flows like one long song, and I have to thank the guys from summer school '84 in Houston TX, who turned me onto the band via The Swing album, which is almost as great as it's predecessor.
I goofed the pre-chorus on the first chorus, I was supposed to sing another line there, in case you're following along.
Lyrics:
Promises are carved out of lust
With a fire in the heart
That burns with no regret
I vow to play the part
In this a meeting of the soul
My feelings are unknown
I learn with no regret
I'm getting what I get
Feel some pain
Though I'm miles away
And ring to let you know
Are you seeing someone
I'd better let you go
She said this was a lesson in love
She said this was a love to end all loves
This soul never listens to me
This soul has a lot to learn
Honesty eludes one and all
Like a gypsy's search for gold
He's dreaming all the time
But the gold is hard to find
Promises are carved out of lust
With a fire in the heart
That burns with no regret
I'm getting what I get
She said this was a lesson in love
She said this was a love to end all loves
This soul never listens to me
This soul has a lot to learn
Having the dreams
Of some gypsy

This one was written in the earliest days. I still could hardly play guitar and didn't know the names of any chords or how to work my way around the fretboard -- rudimentary to the extreme -- but somehow we had the verse and chorus. It sounded sort of old-fashioned for it's day, mainly because I didn't have a strong grasp on how to write good songs and actually play the guitar. Mark composed the intro bit that took it out of the 80's and into the 90's, and I think it's the thing that makes the song work as a burner, an encore, or just a way to get a crowd in the RAWK mode.
We recorded a version of this tune on our debut album with Jesse James Dupree of Jackyl helming the board. We recorded it on his ADAT system that he had set-up at Rip's house. Rip was Jesse's dad and he was totally cool about us blowing up his house 24/7. JP -- Jesse's grandpa -- was still alive and he had his bedroom on the top floor, we were downstairs in the basement that Jesse and Don Tart put together. This was the first version of "Cock of the Walk," studios and it was totally rad. I slept there for a few weeks at that time, while we were recording the vocals. I would be on one couch and Jesse on the other, as he was in-between houses. His position was that the vocals were super important and we really put a lot of effort into it. He taught me all kinds of crazy things that I employ to this day. The entire band worked so hard on that record and Jesse poured his heart and soul into it. He would call John Kolodner every day and try to convince him of it's brilliance. It was a glorious time.

I wish the mix was better, it's very vocal heavy. Just picture it with all of the harmonies and the main vocal evenly distributed so that each part is heard, but not overwhelming the others. The last verse is the closet to that goal that is depicted in this video.
One last vid on this one. I did some more low harmonies to form part of a gang vocal with a higher harmony and then I stuck low parts on any section that had a high harmony. I erased about half of what I did on camera and had to do that section again.
I think the added harmonies really brought the tune to life in an unexpected way. The guitar also was a revelation, as I didn't see a good spot for a guitar because there is a vocal there, but they somehow interlace well.

Guitar Center Used has garnered some negative reviews and anecdotal reports regarding guitars shipped in poor condition and things not being as advertised. We had some concerns before unboxing, but after a twenty-four hour wait on the nitro finish, we opened the case and all was well.
A helpful sales associate reunited the bass with it's original, and proper case.
Everything went fine in this situation, and I have nothing negative to report. I would recommend time on the phone with someone helpful like a sales rep to insure you're getting what you want before you hit 'order.'

I noticed that my neck humbucker was no longer connected to the mount and the spring was loose. I have struggled doing this bfore, so I found a post over at Mylespaul, detailing how to attach an aligator clip to the screw in order to hold back the spring while it's being screwed into the base. Once it's attached, you remove the clip and the string pops into place.
Next, I installed my new Kluson ZMAC Nashville bridge. It is constructed in the same fashion as the Gibson brisge. I installed the mounts into the bushing and the bridge was an easy drop-in replacement. I think it works and sounds great.
I have zero affiliation, I purchased it on my own, etc.
