Aphex Dominator II - How does it work and an easy fix

A customer brought me in a Kenwood TS-480SAT transceiver that had low power and very distorted transmit audio. In this video I repair the transmit and do a full transmit alignment including the idle current setup for the output transistors. Nice radio for either a mobile or base station with a big power supply.

We replace some caps, align the power output and check the spectral purity. Also I show a way to use a very inexpensive SDR radio as a poor mans spectrum analyzer and how to use it to check deviation with the Bessel Null method.
