I’ve been Keto for 5–10yrs now and so my carb intake has minimal to zero and yet I’ve never felt healthier or more alive, my brain fog is completely gone.
When I do eat carbs which is extremely rare I notice my body come out of ketosis as my energy and vitality levels drop a lot and also when I go back into ketosis my body comes alive.
Fats are extremely important as all your hormones and cholesterol’s are made from this. Your brain is mostly fat and every cell in your body is made of proteins and fats. The Standard American Diet is deficient in good quality fats.
As for fuel since I’ve been keto so burning fat for fuel instead of glucose my energy levels are always high and stable and I feel much happier and more alive like a teenager.
So with carbs my body has thrived to a level I did not think it was possible and now I’m no longer chasing each meal as I used to do when I eat carbs.

I’ve been on my health journey for the last 10yrs and I’m also a biohacker and this is what I’ve learnt so far.
1. eat consciously, become fussy about your food, have some standards around what you will and will not allow into your body. one way to do that is to consciously choose a diet if you don’t then you are on the SAD (Standard American Diet) which is the worst diet in the world for the human body. good diets I know of are Keto, Carnivore, Paleo, Vegetarian, Pescatarian. This will help in setting a standard of what you will eat.
2. remove junk / processed / fast / take-away foods from your life. Learn to say NO to these and mean it.
3. Learn to cook using the best quality ingredients you have access to. Cooking your own food is many times healthier then eating out and much much cheaper. So its better for your body and wallet! win win.
4. eat as much natural whole-foods as possible. These being grass-fed organ meats and meats, fish, eggs, cruciferous vegetables and a small amount of fruits.
5. The quality of your food is extremely important so always try to buy the best quality you can afford. so grass-fed instead of grain fed, none caged hens, organic where you can, etc, etc.
6. eliminate foods you are allergic to especially gluten which everybody is allergic to.
