Everyone loves roller coasters, whether they are extreme coasters or not. In this list we countdown just the extreme roller coasters and not just the extreme but the most intense roller coasters on earth. Buckle up for this ride. The reason this list is done in a top 5 format is I found after 5 there were way too many coasters that would be tied for 6th, 7th, 8th etc all the way to 20th+, so I kept this one short and sweet with just the most extreme roller coasters.
Check out Theme Park Review's Channel, they have awesome full videos of the coasters seen on our list.

The Tasmanian devil a small mammal vanquished to the island of Tasmania once flourished in Australia. Not only did they flourish they were integral to the stabilization of Australia’s ecosystem, ever since they were wiped out both plants and animals in Australia have suffered. Measuring about the size of a medium-sized dog and weighing around 26 lbs or 12 kg these animals evolved for millions of years on mainland Australia. It’s unsure what exactly got the devils, climate change, growth in size of aboriginal groups or the introduction of dingos 4000 years ago. One thing that is certain once they were gone the introduction of new animals like European rabbits have devastated the undergrowth. This undergrowth provided places for many species to build shelter and hunt like the bandicoot, potoroos and bettong. With no shelter, they moved elsewhere or their numbers declined.

Tokyo, a city built on the coast, intertwined with water has put in place a flood system you’ll have to see to believe. On this episode we bring you Tokyo’s flood tunnels.
Global oceanic city Tokyo has so much water access including cancels and waterways within the city that a grand plan was put in place to protect the city from flooding. There are 8 rivers that run through Tokyo all capable of flooding during a typhoon.
In the 1950s - 1960s typhoons flooded and destroyed the low lying old downtown of Tokyo.
Based on Tokyo’s geographical location disaster in many forms can strike at any moment. Over 38 sq miles or 100 sq km of the city is below sea level which was made worse by rapid construction in the 1960s and 70s. Water was extracted causing the are around Koto-ku to sink further down 2.2 feet or 70 cm.
Tokyo’s annual rainfall of 60 inches or 1530 mm hasn’t changed that much over the years but the pattern in which the rain falls has. In recent decades that rain pours heavy and hard putting people’s homes at risk of flooding.
Over 80 years ago an artificial waterway was dug, walled with concrete and armed with gates to control the rate of flow away from east Tokyo. Overtime more gates were added but eventually Tokyo devised an idea to build an enormous structure underground to soak up typhoon flood water at outrageous volumes. This came after the 1991 catastrophic flood that submerged 30,000 homes and left dozens dead. 3 billion dollars and 13 years later the Metropolitan Outer Area Underground Discharge Channel was completed. 5 stories tall this massive chamber is so long it’s length is greater than the height of this building, Fountain Place in Dallas. Outfit with dozens of pillars, each one weighs in over 500 tons. As the rivers start to fill up water is diverted into this surge tank which will then be redirected to the man made river that exits the city. Being the largest of its kind in the world, this surge tank sees water fill up inside 7 to 12 times a year. How this is possible is a 3.7 mile or 6 km network of huge pipes all positioned to take in water when the flow is too high that carries it through the pipes back to the surge tank.

Robb Godshaw created the hamster wheel desk with help from his friend Will Doenlen. He describes it as the evolution of the desk, as sitting all day wasn’t feeling so good for the body and finds he feels stiff after using a standing desk. So he developed a solution to the problem.
The hamster wheel desk moves at whatever speed you walk at. It’s speed is solely based on how big of stride you take and how close your desk is to the center of the wheel.
Moving the desk closer to the center will make it easier to walk and further will increase the walking speed and difficulty as it’s a sloped surface. Robb constructed the desk within 24 hours with the help of many friends.
A water cutter was used to cut the wooden frame, rollerblade wheels were attached to the frame which makes it roll. The rest was built with simple wooden boards.
Seems like a great solution for keeping active while working at your desk, and he noted that it’s better than a treadmill desk as you control the speed.

Bronze tube was found by Archeologists in the polish city of Zlocieniec
The capsule was buried with the construction of a Nazi training school over 80 years ago.
Buried under the Ordensburg Krossinsee building, the capsule was obtained by researchers by first going through a thick concrete wall, traversing German mines and wading through groundwater.
Inside was 2 copies of ‘Mein Kampf’, photographs of Hitler among others, newspapers, coins inside an envelope and promotional material about Falkenburg (the German name for Zlocieniec)
It is said all the contents of the capsule are perfectly preserved and are nowc in the National Museum in Szczecin
